About us

You deserve a better experience from your next seismic project. This means you want to work with people who will operate with honesty, efficiency and dedication. You want your project to be a priority for the service provider and not to get lost under the weight of corporate bureaucracy. That is what you will find when teaming up with RockWave, where our small, experienced, and passionate team of geophysicists have created an atmosphere and attitude that will extract the most amount of information from your seismic data. We learnt our trade using top-tier technology to image O&G exploration targets, and now apply this across multiple energy sectors in support of a sustainable energy future, processing seismic to image exploration targets, CO2 underground storage and overburden, shallow foundation zones and cable routes. Since the RockWave adventure began in April 2020, your competitors have already been gaining an edge by working with us. So if you want to partner in an upcoming acquisition or consulting bid, or have seismic imaging challenges that require an expert solution, contact us today... seismic@rockwave.xyz

Seismic Processing & Acquisition Geophysicist | Proven Track Record with O&G Operators & Service Companies | Expert in Oil & Gas, and Offshore Wind | Skilled in Data Analysis, Project Management, and Field Operations

This week I had the opportunity to attend a careers day at a local high school academy with my colleague Rachel Ward to talk about what we do at RockWave but also discuss a little more in general about careers in Geoscience. Unfortunately, our Geoscience world isn’t always well covered in school curricula, so these are great opportunities to promote ourselves and what we do! It was great fun interacting and engaging with the kids and seeing how they react when shown how a homemade seismograph relates to current day energy technologies and choosing where to place a wind turbine! I would highly recommend doing this if you get the opportunity! #careersingeoscience #geologicalsociety #seismicenergy

🤘🤘🤘 Peter Cox 👋👋👋 Packed room of people to hear about how single channel seismic is still sexy. In collaboration with our co-authors OWC and aae technologies, Peter demonstrated how if single channel seismic is acquired with the right equipment and processed from raw SEG-Y to the RockWave standard, then a massive amount of subsurface information can be revealed. The results of this case study were also comparable, if not superior to the existing M-UHRS data in the same area, and that was according to the ground modelling team. With a wide global fleet of vessels capable of acquiring single channel seismic, this paper available through #EAGEGET2024 should help give developers more survey options and get it right first time 😉

#Rotterdam hosts RockWave at #EAGEGET2024 this November. These are the characters appearing on stage and booth this year, on a quest to meet and discuss energy transition projects, where reliable seismic data can guide future investment decisions. There is no great secret to how we do things, we are just specialists at working with seismic of all frequency ranges to create the best possible datasets. We're so fascinated with creating beautiful data, that we want to share our technical work with this audience. Bring on the scrutiny! It helps us get better. So, whip out your calendars and add these events to your schedule, where RockWave data will be showcased: Tuesday, November 5th: 🔥11:50 | Tokyo Room: Peter Cox presents, ‘Optimal Acquisition and Processing Recommendations for SCS in Offshore Site Investigations’ 🔥12:10 | Tokyo Room Katarzyna Kubiak (Beam) presents, ‘INTOG the Unknown: Processing Sub-bottom profiler data beyond conventional practice. A North Sea case study’ Wednesday, November 6th: 🔥14:50 | Tokyo Room: Connor Boylan presents, ‘AVO-compliant Processing and Elastic Pre-Stack Inversion of UHRS Data at Nederwiek Wind Farm Site’ 🔥15:50 | Veder Room: Nick Woodburn presents, ‘Affirming technical motives and removing operational barriers to 3D ultra-high resolution seismic using forward-modelled data’ 🔥09:45 | Veder Room: Ross Noble (Geowynd) presents, ‘Integrating geo-data to increase interpretation confidence and geohazard identification for offshore wind farm ground models’ Between talks, come to our booth and meet the rest of the team. We will all be there* #EnergyTransition *some will be attending in figurine form only.

A #CPT prefers easy-peasy soft rock not bedrock. The challenge #floatingwind developers will face in the #CelticSea is to understand the widespread and shallow nature of the bedrock, which has cost implications to geotechnical campaigns and engineering solutions. How do we know this? Because we “Repurposed” an existing Celtic Sea oil and gas seismic dataset into a high resolution image of the shallow subsurface. So, we have seen with our own eyes. As have the many developers who have used our data. Repurposing is nothing new. In 2020 we released our first Repurposed O&G seismic dataset. This was utilised by SSE Renewables, Copenhagen Offshore Partners and Marubeni during the ScotWind application phase, over the site now known as Ossian. Having subsurface data before applications closed was useful. Celtic Sea developers won’t have such luxuries, as the Crown Estate ultra-high resolution seismic will only be delivered to winning parties. Timely then, that floating wind fans head up to Aberdeen this week for #FloatingWind2024 and Round 5 is going to feature heavily in conversations. Message Alastair MacLeod if you want to discuss our data with him there. Or just collar the man with the shiny head and a flashy blue RockWave lanyard.

RockWave has the best #seismic team in the world. There we said it. How do we know that? The mix of individual skill and collaborative problem solving that has just been on show at our latest tech day! RockWave’s entire technical team took time this week to engage in interactive presentations that investigated seismic processing/imaging techniques and the greatest #UHRS imaging challenges of our time, experiencing several eureka moments and initiating plenty of ideas for further investigation. Of course, we won’t be sharing any of that on this forum, but you can reap the benefits of them when you bring us your next dataset! This was also the first time we have set up a ‘pop-up’ office for a couple of days and whilst nice to have some team time, it was long enough to realise that our virtual work model is here to stay… whatever Amazon Web Services (AWS) might have to say about it, they are wrong. After hours of focused work, the day shifted gears—literally—by heading to a go-karting track for some friendly competition. Here it was proven without doubt, that in this arena the careful methodical approach of our technical team was no match for the quick reactions and response time that you have come to love from our commercial team, as Matt Swan & Alastair MacLeod taught them all a lesson in fast paced business, placing a clear 1-2 at the top of the podium. Only Connor Boylan was able to prevent himself being lapped to take 3rd spot. Our selection process is complete – any company out there want to set up a racing team to challenge us?? RockWave workshops, tech days and socials are a huge part of our culture and help to make this the best team in seismic… in our opinion... #energy #data #subsurface

Co-Founder @ RockWave | Sales Director | Fascinated with Geoscience | Embracing the Adventure

In the roof of this house was the first “office” of RockWave. But you won’t find me there anymore, perched in front of some wonky artwork and photo frames. Back in early 2020, before our official launch, RockWave was just an idea - a name, a few logo sketches, and a strong belief that we could build something lasting in the #seismic industry. The house was small, and I had to climb a ladder to get to work. But that at least kept me separate from the noise of three kids below. It worked for me. Last week, our family moved into a new home, marking the end of an era. Though we are excited, it was difficult saying goodbye to 44. This was where RockWave began, where the dream took shape and grew into something to be truly proud of. Thanks, old house. And a special thanks to Siân Woods, who drew this picture for us, which now hangs on the walls of our new home. #newoffice #newhome
