Roofing Advisors UK Ltd were delighted to take part in this week’s ‘Open Doors Flat Roofing Event’, organised by the CITB National Construction College. Our Managing Director, Danny Graham, and Project Manager, Ally Timms, had the opportunity to meet over 60 young people, providing hands-on demonstrations of Flat Roofing Skills and Techniques. We were also proud to sponsor the transport costs for pupils from Drumchapel High, ensuring they could take part in this fantastic event. Thank you Allan D. for the invitation. Due to continued growth in our Contracts division, we are currently recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team. With multiple successful tender awards in recent years, we are currently expanding our capabilities and services. This role will support our delivery team in planning, coordinating, and delivering roofing and building fabric projects while ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. What you’ll need: ▪️ Experience in roofing and/or building trades. ▪️ A construction management qualification is preferred; SMSTS or SSSTS. ▪️ Strong IT skills, including MS Office, SharePoint, Smartsheets, and Teams. ▪️ Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. ▪️ Ability to work closely with our Contracts and Estimating teams. Congratulations to Ally Timms and Lee Ryan who competed at the HYROX event held at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow over the weekend.   Both of them put in a massive effort on the day and into their training over the months leading up to the occasion, including regular 5 AM training sessions before starting their workdays.   Well done lads! Over the past week, Roofing Advisors UK Ltd are delighted to have secured a brace of Contract Awards across the Central Belt:   𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁, 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹: Full strip of the existing roof build-up back to the existing plywood deck level and a new warm roof tapered Sika SikaShield membrane system, including new Access Ladders and Perimeter Handrails installed by our Height Services division.   𝗬𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁, 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗴𝗼𝘄: Replacing a ballasted roof with a new warm roof using the low-odour Sika Decothane Ultra product – this is Phase 2 of our works on this riverside building and also continues our work within large city-centre developments.   We are excited to begin these projects soon and will bring the progress updates and completion photos.   For any Roofing and Height Services enquiries, contact our team: 📍 2/2, 211 Dumbarton Road, Glasgow. As part of our external fabric tenemental refurbishment project at Wilton Street, Glasgow, Roofing Advisors UK Ltd are delighted to partner with Glasgow City Heritage Trust to host a Roof Slating and Traditional Leadwork Demonstration on site.   This event will take place on Friday 28th March commencing at 1 pm and is recommended to industry members, clients, building surveyors, architects, training groups, contractors, local housing associations, property factors and CPD organisers, as well as being open to the wider general public.   Attendees will also be offered the opportunity to try their hand at the work and gain some hands-on experience.   Refreshments will also be available at the event and PPE will be provided.   This event is an open invitation; however, to manage the number of attendees at any given time, we kindly ask that if you wish to attend, you please contact Antony McDermott to register and receive further information. antony@roofingadvisors.co.uk Special thanks to our friends at NFRC for providing the Training Rigs and their ongoing support.
