Two years of Thrive Paediatrics – and our commitment to wellbeing is stronger than ever. At RCPCH, we know that when paediatricians thrive, children receive the best care. That’s why wellbeing isn’t an afterthought—it’s a priority. Over the past two years, Thrive Paediatrics has driven real change, thanks to the dedication of Dr Jess Morgan and many others. From shifting workplace culture to providing essential mental health resources, we’re ensuring paediatricians feel supported at every stage of their careers. But this is just the beginning. We’re committed to making wellbeing a lasting part of paediatrics. Read more about our journey from Dr Jess Morgan: https://ow.ly/o5wY50UQnVp

This resource provides essential tools not only for child health professionals, but also for the wider air pollution community, it includes: - A knowledge hub – Providing the latest evidence on air pollution and its impact on child health. - A communication toolkit – Full of resources to support discussions with patients and families - New simulation videos – With clinical scenarios filmed at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. - An Advocacy Toolkit – Providing guidance on engaging with media and policy. We're delighted to hear that 1 in 3 September-born babies were born to a mother who had received the RSV vaccine! Each winter, RSV rates spike and put health services under immense pressure, and paediatricians see first hand how serious and sometimes life-threatening an RSV infection can be for children and young infants. UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) data from NHS GP practice records shows that since September over 140,000 pregnant women have now been vaccinated. Our full response: https://lnkd.in/eKed_Ch8

NHSE have published their 2025/26 priorities and operational planning guidance. We welcome NHSE's request that ICBs explicitly reflect children and young people's needs in local planning and funding. When children are not specifically mentioned in policy and funding plans, they are often forgotten about completely. But to tackle the crisis in child health we now need ICBs to prioritise and deliver the investment and resources needed. Read our full response: https://lnkd.in/epYye5Bx

The Institute of Health Visiting (iHV) annual survey found that 73% of health visitors said workforce shortages were affecting their ability to support families in need. Health visitors play an essential role in promoting and ensuring the health and wellbeing of children and their families. They are regularly described as a safety net and are essential in both prevention and early intervention of ill health. However, far too often their services are both overlooked and underfunded. It is clear that much more support and investment are needed if we are to if we are to deliver a strong and sustainable child health workforce. Read our response: https://lnkd.in/eapn8b2v
