Hairdresser with ADHD wins £10K tribunal case 📰 George Miller, one of our employment law experts, was featured in a recent People Management magazine article discussing a landmark case. In this instance, a hairdresser diagnosed with ADHD was dismissed due to alleged poor timekeeping and loss of clients. However, the employment tribunal found that her employer had failed to make reasonable adjustments for her condition, resulting in her unfair dismissal. George Miller explains, “This case underlines the importance for employers to follow a process before deciding to dismiss an employee. Had the employer investigated the vague allegation made against this employee first, they may have decided not to dismiss and would have saved themselves a judgment for more than £10,000 in damages, not including the legal costs they presumably paid on top."
