The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee has just made its latest decision to hold the interest rates. Our UK Economist Thomas Pugh joined BBC News’s Business Today earlier this morning to share why he expected interest rates to remain unchanged, at least for now. He highlighted the difficult balancing act facing the Bank: on one hand, rising inflation pressures suggest a need for tighter monetary policy, on the other, a contracting economy urgently requires a stimulus. With the Spring Statement looming, significant changes from the Budget set for April, and new tariffs adding further uncertainty, navigating this decision had never been more complex. https://lnkd.in/eWQJkFrZ
