Innovation is at the heart of what we do. From cutting-edge solutions to strategic partnerships, we’re constantly pushing boundaries to create meaningful impact. This Netherlands-based joint venture aims to overcome the challenges of existing reuse systems and build the next generation of sustainable packaging. We also launched The Rubbish Project in 2018: A groundbreaking partnership fostering the adoption of 100% recycled rPET cups and closed-loop recycling at events. Our transformative initiatives have reshaped the Benelux events industry leaving a lasting legacy on legislation and business operations across the sector. We partnered with key players like Huhtamaki, ABInBev, MOJO (Live Nation), LOC7000, and more. Are waste-related issues holding your business back? Let’s explore how we can help. Visit our website or get in touch! The choice is simple, a rubbish future or a waste free world. KEYNOTE SNIPPET 💫🎙️ Connor Bryant from Rubbish Ideas ♻ The purpose of Connor’s talk at #GoingGlobal2024 is to explain what is meant by the term circular economy and why this KEY transition matters for businesses 🔃 If we do not create a waste free world then we will have a rubbish future 🗑️ If humanity is to live in harmony with nature we need to learn from it. A circular economy is biomimicry, it’s a new way of thinking inspired by nature’s infinite cycles. The linear economy is destroying our only home. The circular economy will allow us to regenerate our planet and live in harmony with the natural world forever more 🌱 Environmental challenges will mean huge changes for the global economy which is a massive opportunity for innovative businesses to take advantage of as every industry on earth is shaken up 🌎 Don’t miss Connors talk at #GG24, FREE tickets here: https://lnkd.in/e2NcSvk6 #GoingGlobalLive #GGLive #GlobalTrade #GlobalBusiness #GlobalBusinessExpansion #TBS50 #TBS #TheBusinessShow #London #LondonFreeEvent #BusinessEvent #freebusinessopportunity #freebusinessadvice #freebusinesstools

Do you notice the amount of waste on the floor at events? Well of-course we do, and so do the event organisers we work with. So working with events like Appelpop for over 3 years now has been a very rewarding experience as we have helped the event organisers go from walking on an ocean of rubbish to virtually untouched ground. “After the first day of the festival my eye fell upon the ground and immediately I notieced how clean the floor was. There were so little cups on the floor. I’d like to thank our visitors and our cup to cup partners King, What A Waste! and Rubbish Ideas” - Max Schroot (Organiser) We helped Appelpop setup a cup to cup recycling system in 2022 and have been measuring their increasingly good performance with The Rubbish Portal ever since! If you run an event and would like support setting up circular (reusable, closed loop, etc) systems at your event, or measuring your results then please get in touch. #CupToCup #RubbishPortal #Appelpop2024

Adventures in utopia! 💚 What future do you want? Last weekend I attended Shambala Festival again and was reminded that the events tagline 'adventures in utopia' is well and truly earned. There are too many examples for me to list them all, but here are my top 3: 1. The Community & Culture 🧚♀️ Shambala has cultivated a community that are deeply committed to partying in a sustainable, inclusive, and planet positive way, and it shows! The people and atmosphere give me such hope for the future highlighting the positive cultural change that is possible and already going strong at the festival. 2. The Waste ♻ The ground of the campsites and festival grounds remained clean and clear of waste throughout the entire event and when people left at the event they quite literally left no trace. This is how events should be! Achieved with reusable cups, compostable packaging, good bins, and the amazing culture referenced above. 3. The Vision for The Future 🌍 To me Shambala in both its culture and infrastructure presents a vision for the type of future I want and feel the world so desperately needs, showing it is possible to have everything we want while respecting people and planet. _______ I first attended Shambala when I was just 17 years old (12 years ago!), and at the time I was volunteering for the Raw Foundation (RAW Bottles) under the wonderful leadership of Melinda Watson refilling water bottles. So I am very proud to now be working with Christopher Johnson, Josephina Bodimeade, and the rest of the Kambe Events Ltd team through my company Rubbish Ideas as we help Shambala to measure, report and reduce their waste footprint for the second year running! Have you heard of Climate Science Breakthrough? Sustainability is a complicated science and lets be honest science can sometimes be a bit boring... 😴 But we cannot afford to be dis-interested in the most important issue of our time, maybe the most significant challenge humanity has and ever will face! Well thats where Climate Science Breakthrough comes in. They are making fun to watch easy to understand videos where comedians turn the science into relatable language. To be honest we think its hilarious and a much more fun way to engage with our complicated environmental problems. They've teamed up with some of the leading climate and environmental scientists including: Bill McGuire, Joanna Haigh, Dr Frederike Otto, and Mark Maslin. As well as some of our favourite comedians: Jonathan Pie, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Nish Kumar, and Jo Brand. The combination is perfection. This is our favourite video: https://lnkd.in/dyzjtm5q See the rest here: https://lnkd.in/e6g5yh3V #ClimateScience #Comedy #Science

🌈 "Let’s make green the most important colour in the rainbow!" 💚 We’re incredibly proud of our journey with Pride events, from supporting Weston Super-Mare Pride in 2019 and 2022 with a pioneering cup-to-cup recycling system, to working alongside Amsterdam Pride this year to boost sustainability on the Main Stage! Whether it’s through introducing reusable packaging systems (Rubbish Reusables) or measuring environmental impact with The Rubbish Portal, we’re here to help Pride celebrations shine even brighter – sustainably. 🏳️🌈 Interested in making your Pride event greener? We are very proud of our partners at Rubbish Reusables who are working with events in the Netherlands and beyond on a mission to make them more sustainable, including working with Amsterdam Pride Main Stage this year! 🏳️🌈 If you don't know about our groundbreaking new venture Rubbish Reusables yet we are excited to share the news: RR is a new collaboration we have established with some wonderful Dutch partners focused on tackling the issues that reusable packaging systems face. We call our Rubbish Reusable packaging 'The Next Generation of Reusable Packaging' and for good reason: 1. Current reusable packaging is too often made from virgin materials and goes un-recycled at end of life, not very circular... In contrast our reusables will be made with recycled material and can be closed-loop recycled back into new reusable packaging at end of life. 2. Reuse systems are too often very inconvenient for both bar companies to operate and for consumers to engage with. We want to change this so we are focused on smart infrastructure and tech enabled deposit return systems that remove the major pain points for both operators and consumers. Making reuse an easy choice. 3. Reusable products can and should be better for the environment than disposable products, if used correctly. To ensure this positive impact is achieved we use The Rubbish Portal to track the reuse lifecycle and measure its impact so it can be properly compared with the single use packaging it has replaced. Making it easy for businesses to measure and report their improved impact. So if you're interested in #Reuse, #ReusablePackaging, and #SustainableEvents then follow Rubbish Reusables to stay up to date.

🌈 We're thrilled to have partnered with Amsterdam Pride Main Stage this year for the first time! 🎉 Using The Rubbish Portal, we helped measure the environmental impact of this iconic event, providing on-site support for data capture to ensure accurate insights. It's been an incredible journey working with such a vibrant community dedicated to celebrating diversity while caring for our planet. 🌍 The organisers Judith Rigter & Lisa Luijten have been a great pleasure to work with and showed real dedication and commitment to getting the best results possible, we are very impressed and look forward to working with them again. Our mission to make sustainability simpler and more effective is growing stronger, one event at a time. If you run an event and would like to do more for the environment then please get in touch! #AmsterdamPride #EventManagement #Pride2024 #RubbishPortal
