Supacat hosted a successful event on 25th September 2024, to celebrate the goods supplied by suppliers. This event was Supacat giving back to their apprentices, who are providing parts for the build of the Jackal 3. The production of 70 Jackal-3 trucks is fulfilling a UK Ministry of Defence contract to increase the tactical fleet of vehicles for the British Army. Hosting suppliers and their esteemed apprentices was an incredible day. It enabled Supacat to demonstrate our vehicles, valued by Special Forces worldwide and the British Army. During the day, we stretched our supplier's and apprentices' competencies by asking them to complete various activities, from building at height to creating a circle out of Pringles! Watching our suppliers and apprentices participate in these Krypton factor challenges was exciting and insightful! #thinkingoutsidethebox Not only did those who took part face a number of skills activities, but they were treated to a ride in one of our Supacat Jackals — High Mobility Transporter (HMT). Production has officially begun on 70 Jackal 3 vehicles for the British Army, with a prototype already built. Today, Babcock International Group alongside Supacat opened the production line marking a significant milestone in the programme which has created 100 new jobs with almost 100% of its supply chain sourced in the UK. 🇬🇧 Major General Darren Crook CBE, our Director of Land Equipment, who attended the opening ceremony said: “This Supacat and Babcock collaboration will deliver modern fighting vehicles for the British Armed Forces and our allies, whilst developing and maintaining key land defence engineering skills in a much-valued part of the South West of England. It is tangible evidence of the British Army’s Land Industrial Strategy and our purpose for Defence: to protect the nation and help it prosper.”
