Event — Santa Fe UK supports Macmillan Cancer Support with successful coffee morning events. Last month, our UK Thrive@Work committee organised three coffee mornings across our offices to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. The events were a great success, helping us contribute to the vital services for those living with cancer. We had eight talented bakers from the Santa Fe team who volunteered their time and skills to create a wonderful selection of cakes. It was fantastic to see so many people come together to enjoy the delicious treats and contribute to a meaningful cause. The coffee mornings were well-received by everyone in our Lyric Square and Uxbridge offices, and it was heartening to see people from other offices and even the building reception joining in. A special thanks goes out to our Group COO, Steve Standring, who generously matched all donations, which motivated even more participation and support. This collective effort allowed us to make a significant contribution to Macmillan Cancer Support. We look forward to continuing this tradition and supporting Macmillan in the years to come. Thank you to everyone who took part and made these events so successful. Corporate Moving — Dockworkers at key East and Gulf Coast ports have agreed to suspend their strike while negotiations continue, following a tentative agreement. The strike, which began on 1 October 2024, disrupted supply chains and forced businesses to adopt contingency plans, such as rerouting shipments and leveraging inventory reserves. The suspension provides temporary relief, but the situation remains uncertain as the parties plan to reconvene in January to resolve remaining issues. The economic impact, while significant, is expected to stabilise during the suspension period. Key insights from our update include: (1) Companies are adjusting logistics strategies and preparing for potential disruptions when talks resume in January. (2) Businesses are focusing on inventory management and maintaining open communication with supply chain partners. (3) The suspension is a positive step, but further negotiations will be crucial in determining long-term stability. Key insights from our update include: (1) Businesses are adjusting logistics and exploring alternative routes. (2) Companies are using inventory reserves and maintaining open communication with supply chain partners. (3) Federal mediation is ongoing, with hopes for a resolution soon. Webinar — At Santa Fe Relocation, we believe in supporting our colleagues through every stage of life. That’s why we recently hosted the “Embracing the Pause” webinar in collaboration with the International Medical Clinic in Singapore to shed light on the menopause journey. We all know someone—whether it’s a colleague, a sister, a mother, or a friend—who is navigating this significant life stage. The webinar provided a platform to deepen our understanding and discover how to be more supportive. The webinar was an incredible success, with 115 attendees joining across two sessions to accommodate different time zones. Dr Jessica Rankine delivered an engaging and informative presentation that covered what menopause is, how it is diagnosed, common symptoms, available treatments, the role of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), and how diet and lifestyle can play a key role in managing symptoms. A lively Q&A session followed, where participants had the opportunity to have their questions, sent in advance, answered in depth. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with comments such as “Very helpful”, “Very informative”, “Excellent”, and “Great presentation.” We’re proud to provide these learning and personal growth opportunities as part of our ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing. #SantaFeRelocation #AssignmentManagement #CompensationManagement #DestinationServices #Immigration #Moving #GlobalMobility #HR #HumanResources #GlobalMobilityMadeEasy

Corporate Moving — Proactive planning is required amid a potential East Coast port strike. With contract negotiations between the International Longshoreman’s Association (ILA) and maritime employers still unresolved, the possibility of a strike at key East and Gulf Coast ports, including New York/New Jersey and Houston, is increasing. Federal mediation is ongoing, and experts remain optimistic that any potential strike will be short-lived. Key insights from our update include: (1) Proactive planning: Businesses are adjusting their logistics to mitigate supply chain impacts. (2) Alternative strategies: Companies are considering West Coast and Canadian ports to avoid delays. (3) Hope for resolution: Federal mediation continues, with businesses prepared for a quick recovery. Corporate Immigration update — We have barely said goodbye to summer in the Netherlands, and the new hires for 1 January 2025 are already coming in. This seems to us as a great opportunity to refresh our memories on the new salary thresholds that will be implemented per the new calendar year and when does it apply to your newly hired Highly Skilled Migrant? Key points to consider include: (1) The Dutch immigration authorities commonly inform about the new salary thresholds towards the end of December. (2) When a Highly Skilled Migrant is hired, who is already working at a recognised sponsor in the Netherlands, it is considered a “change of employer” (3) When a Highly Skilled Migrant changes employer, they must meet the salary threshold of the date they join the new recognised sponsor (4) Non-compliance can lead to serious consequences, as they would not meet the requirements to hold the Highly Skilled Migrant permit.
