Last week Matthew Blair, Adam Ballantine, James McLarnon and Laura Buckley attended South Eastern Regional College Open Night in Bangor. It was a great opportunity to meet some potential future apprentices and also highlight the recruitment needs of our industry. The courses are tailored for design roles in the industry and we are looking forward to meeting some potential Higher Level Apprentices in the near future.

Stephen, Laura and James attended the opening of Progressive Newtownards at the end of February. It was great to see this fit out project completed and what a difference to the space. We are delighted to welcome Audrey Watt to the SCC team. Audrey is studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Waterloo in Canada and is completing her Internship with us. Audrey is from Alberta, Canada, has a keen interest in engineering and has excellent software skills. Audrey is up for any challenge and has fitted into the team perfectly. Our 4-day work week is proving very beneficial, allowing Audrey to have extra long weekends to enjoy other parts of the UK, Ireland and Europe.  Thanks for joining the team Audrey and we look forward to watching you progress your knowledge through this internship.  

Team CPD 📝 "Construction & Design Teams - Design Impacts On-Site" Eóin King MCIOB from McCabe McGinn very kindly visited SCC offices last week to deliver a CPD on a Contractors perspective of how designs can impact the success of projects on site. Stephen and Eóin, through working together on multiple projects over the years had identified some key challenges in the industry that can affect the success of a project. At SCC we are continually striving to improve our service to our clients, and it was great to get a contractor’s insight on the challenges they may face when on site. We have so many ideas from the CPD and it was great for all the team but especially the graduates and students to get an understanding from a contractors perspective. Thanks again Eóin and we highly recommend this CPD to all design team members, it’s definitely gave the team a great insight. #cpd #mepconsultants #buildingservicesengineering

SCC is delighted to have been part of the design team delivering the MEP design for The Watson, Belfast’s newest entertainment venue on Little Donegall Street. The Watson is a venue for everyone to enjoy, that includes a cafe/cocktail bar, a saloon bar for sports and a pool hall. Further investments are planned for the future of the venue which includes a wine bar and off sales.  #mepdesign #buildingservicesengineering

Project Handover 👏 SCC delighted to have been involved from design to completion for this project for Danske Bank in the Shipping Office in Dublin. A fantastic office location overlooking the River Liffey in the heart of the city. It was great to be part of the team alongside CRESIT, McCabe McGinn (MCMG), MIDD ELECTRICAL LTD, TODD Architects Ltd. & Skope .
