  • Great news! We have received £4000 from Scottish Children's Lottery Trust to support the work of our Youth Service. 🤝 This funding will help us to reach young people in the Scottish Highlands to ensure they have access to the support they need. Youth Service Lead Grant Walker said: “It will have a profound impact on young people in rural areas, enabling us to deliver vital services and create opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach. We’re so grateful to the Scottish Children’s Lottery for helping to make this possible.” Please join us in thanking Scottish Children’s Lottery for its support. #WhatAreTheChances #YouthSupport #ScottishHighlands #ThankYou #MakingADifference #ScottishChildrensLottery

  • We are grateful to The Scotsman for covering a letter from our CEO Alistair Haw supporting the call by First Minister John Swinney, SCVO (Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations) and others for charities to be exempt from National Insurance increases. “By listening to those at the coalface, acknowledging an honest mistake and correcting it before the inevitable damage is inflicted, Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his Chancellor Rt Hon Rachel Reeves can be the positive change they promised to be. @labourparty has nothing to lose, and everything to gain, by righting this wrong before it comes into force. If it doesn’t do so – and soon – even more essential charities will have to cut services or fold, and lives will be lost. None can be wished back into existence. The time to do the right thing is, therefore, now.” Read the full letter at: https://lnkd.in/esA62MzA Kemi Badenoch; Andrew Bowie; Russell Findlay; Stephen Flynn MP; Edward Davey MP; Wendy Chamberlain; Alex Cole-Hamilton; Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC); COSLA

  • *Lauren ends 2024 on a fundraising high* Champion fundraiser Lauren Boag rounds off an incredible year by smashing through her £40,000 target - and setting herself a new fundraising goal for 2025. Lauren hosted her annual gala ball in Insch last month, boosting her total by another £4000. That means the busy mum of two has raised over £43,000 for Scottish Huntington’s Association so far. No wonder her outstanding contribution was recognised earlier this year at the Scottish Charity Awards with a special commendation from BBC broadcaster Sally Magnusson. With the new year just around the corner Lauren is already lining up her 2025 events, including gathering supporters together for a nippy dip in January. A huge thank you to Lauren, her family and her friends, for all they do to support our work. We wish them, and everyone involved with Scottish Huntington’s Association, the very best for 2025.
