What an incredible week! SC-Limited ‘s Middle Eastern adventure has come to a close, and I’m back home safely with my family. The pace of change across the region is truly phenomenal, the vision for excellence deeply inspiring, and the warmth and dedication of the people unparalleled. If more governments in the world placed the value on high preforming emergency services, I can’t help but think we would all be better off. Intersec proved once again to be an exceptional platform for convening, sharing new ideas, and driving forward-thinking innovation. Grateful for the experience and looking forward to applying the inspiration and insights gained, but glad to be home now in my slippers for a rest!

This week I had the honour of spending some time with the First Deputy Major-General of Ukraine state emergency services and his team who were visiting the UK to attend the screening of the independent documentary, in the line of fire, which was shown at Somerset house. A brilliant FIRE AID event with many great people there. We enjoyed a meal in the warmth and comfort of a London pub, just pie, mash and a pint. It was humbling at the end of the evening, when the Major General made a short speech… he’d not left Ukraine since the start of the war. He said for one night he had remembered how to relax, and to feel the warmth of the friendship that had been offered from our team in the uk. You forget the impact you can have on strangers.

Today we celebrated Stewart Adamson bringing diversity of gender to our team by having Samosa's for lunch! Here’s to the men who lead with kindness, love, and integrity. You are all truly appreciated. #internationalmensday

We shared a lovely evening at the Worshipful Company of Firefighters 2024 Fund-Raising Dinner last night, raising money for Children with Burns. Set at the IET Venues (IET London: Savoy Place and IET Birmingham: Austin Court) London: Savoy Place and Faryl Smith entertaining us.

Thanks to Fairfield Ltd (Part of the Celltech Group) and Fire Industry Association for inviting Stewart Adamson to speak at this event. We look forward to more events like this in the future. There is so much more to innovate in this space, and we are excited to be part of the conversation.
