Grief support for children and young people in Oxfordshire
About us
SeeSaw is a small independent Oxfordshire charity that provides grief support to children, young people and their families and/or carers. We provide information, advice, resources, consultations, training, support for schools, and face-to-face support sessions for children and young people, usually within their own homes. With appropriate information, and resources, most carers can manage the grief support needed by the children and young people in their charge, because they are the people who know them best. We offer telephone advice and tools to help family members and professionals, such as teachers, to be able to provide that support. In circumstances where it might not be possible for families to provide that support themselves, we offer one-to-one grief support. This is provided by a clinical staff member, or a trained and supervised volunteer. See Saw is a member of the Childhood Bereavement Network, a national organisation, where we share in new developments and contribute towards good practice. SeeSaw is also represented at Oxfordshire’s Child Death Overview Panel; the Rapid Response Team, which responds to the sudden deaths of under 18s; and Thames Valley Suicide Prevention and Intervention Network. At every opportunity, we strive to offer grief support to children and young people who are struggling to cope with a bereavement, and improve the information, advice, and support that is available to the families of Oxfordshire. As Oxfordshire’s population continues to expand, we have seen a growing demand for our services, which SeeSaw provides free of charge.

It's officially #PayRollGivingMonth and as part of our 25th anniversary we are sharing 25 ways you can support SeeSaw. Payroll giving is an easy, secure and tax efficient way to donate to SeeSaw. If your company offers a payroll giving scheme you can make regular tax - free donations directly from your salary. So it costs you less to give more. Your regular donations will help us support bereaved children and young people. This month is an ideal time to talk to your HR Manager about signing up. It's the smart way to give. #SeeSawcharity #SeeSawOxford #payrollgiving #payrollgivingmonth #corporategiving #childbereavement #griefsupport

⭐ Exciting Announcement! 📢 We are proud to announce that SeeSaw will be Oxford City Football Club's Official Charity for February. Chris Williams, Head of Partnerships tells us "SeeSaw are an incredible charity and friends to everyone at the club after offering unbelievable support after Mickey Lewis's death. This month sees the Mickey Lewis book 'Mad Dog: The Mickey Lewis Story' being published (out now!) and all the money goes to SeeSaw so it seemed fitting to make them our charity partners for February." Mickey Lewis was an Oxford United stalwart and Oxford City and University football legend. Writers Leo Ackerman and Alex Urwin were both coached by Mickey and they talked to countless people who played alongside, worked with or were coached or influenced by Mickey. The book is available in Waterstones, all major booksellers, and online here: https://ow.ly/Oy1Y50UStiH We are so grateful to everyone at Oxford City Football Club for their continued support of SeeSaw. Keep an eye out for exciting events happening this month as the club fundraises for bereaved children, young people and families across Oxfordshire.
