  • Our head of investigations Zoe Hardy was on BBC #Crimewatch this morning. Did you 👀 the show? She was there as part of a national appeal to identify people suspected of being involved in the disorder we saw across the country last summer. Although we have a very specific remit in specialist policing, our officers and staff remain part of the wider 👮🏻 family, working hard to keep communities safe 💙 Check out the clip below and please share with your networks. If you spot anyone you know, please report it via this portal - https://lnkd.in/ezJFbNWB Or you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police are working with Crimewatch Live to help identify those suspected of taking part in last year’s summer disorder. Two episodes of the famous BBC produced programme will feature videos and images of suspects committing the most serious offences, with the first airing earlier today - you can see the segment below. Members of the public can also visit a new website to look through the images themselves, and submit information that they may have to the relevant police force: https://lnkd.in/ezJFbNWB As always, those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111or give information online.

A great opportunity for #Comms specialists to join our team. #PoliceComms #Communications

    View profile for Vicky O'Hare

Strategic Communications Manager in regional policing and a vice-chair of the Association of Police Communicators (APComm)

🚨I’m hiring 🚨 Working in 🚓 comms is THE best comms role you’re ever going to do. I might be a little biased on that, but hear me out… My team provides dedicated comms advice and support to Counter Terrorism Policing in the South East and the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU). This is a unique area of police communications dealing with some very specific challenges and no two days are the same. So I’m looking for a comms officer with fire in their belly, a bucketful of new ideas, and the desire to make a difference with their work. This is a great opportunity to join a small but mighty team and have plenty of opportunities to lead on some significant pieces of work at a local, regional and national level. Interested? Details of how to apply are below and I’m more than happy to chat to anyone who wants to know more 💙 #PoliceComms #Communications #BlueLightComms

The head of an organised crime group which sold guns, ammunition and drugs across the UK has been jailed for over 30 years, in what is our #ROCU's longest ever sentence. Ashley Latimer-Basill operated alongside his brother Michael Latimer and associate Robert Kenna in a criminal network which bought blank firing guns and ammunition which they then converted into live weapons. They were jailed for a combined 68 years and nine months as part of an investigation launched in November 2023. Our detectives found that the group had used a network of criminal contacts across the UK to sell and distribute the guns, utilising trusted associates to store and transport the firearms. JAILED: A 19-year-old man who was a member of an extreme satanic group has been jailed for six years following an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing.   Cameron Finnigan from West Sussex was found guilty of possessing a terrorist document and encouraging someone to take their own life.    His wish to carry out a ‘terror week’ and the terrorist document found in his possession provided clear evidence of his extreme right-wing terrorist ideology and mindset.  Read more: https://lnkd.in/e64pJHqD

Today we secured a Serious Crime Prevention Order (SCPO) against a man who exploited his elderly victim. 37-year-old Abdul Ibraheem, formerly of Tolmers Road, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, was made subject to a Serious Crime Prevention Order (SCPO) for a period of four years, which will begin on his release from prison.  He is currently serving a term of five years and one month after being sentenced in March last year for offences including fraud, converting criminal property and possessing criminal property. We're committed to protecting our communities and we will continue to pursue those who exploit the vulnerable for financial gain. Read more about this case 👉 https://lnkd.in/e7RkSSUv
