🚀 5 Days at The Stage, Shoreditch with Galliard Homes and Shadow to Shine During my Reading Week, I completed a 5-day programme at The Stage in Shoreditch, a mixed use development site built by developers including Galliard Homes, in which i gained knowledgable insights into the different property careers available and personal development facilitated by 'Her Future Now' team including Kira Matthews, Louise Thomas, Anil Iltas, Sharai-Raven Mae, Jennifer Uche at Shadow to Shine.  Key Takeaways  💡 Day 1: We explored the Motivational Triad, how the brain prioritises pleasure, avoids pain, and conserves energy. We also discussed Dylan’s Backwards Bike experiment, showing how hard it is to unlearn ingrained habits. Jonathan Bloom shared insights into his job as the head of Public Affairs at Galliard Homes and also gave us a tour of a £2M two-bed apartment, rooftop terrace, and luxury amenities like a bowling alley, cinema rooms, and a planned museum. 📌 Day 2: Focused on identifying strengths and what to look for in a company. Lauren Taylor of litigation shared insights on legalities in property, CV tips, and networking strategies. 🏗️ Day 3: Sukie Dhillon emphasised the importance of having a coach, sponsor, and mentor to navigate the real estate industry. 💼 Day 4: Keisha Serieux Head of HR provided valuable recruitment advice, what makes a candidate stand out and common mistakes. 🤝 Day 5: Wrapped up with the one and only Becky Fatemi, the founder of Shadow to Shine, giving a talk on the importance of being proactive and assertive in a male-dominated industry, also provided massive encouragement and showing it is possible to succeed despite your differences.  Ending on a high note as I was offered a work experience placement with Galliard Homes! Thank you to Shadow to Shine for this incredible experience and to Galliard Homes and all the speakers. Excited for what’s next!

  • It was an absolute pleasure to be back at Tata Consultancy Services - UK and Europe again last week! Such an incredible partnership and excited to continue working together in future years ✨

The TCS Corporate Social Responsibility Team for UK and Ireland hosted an event in collaboration with Shadow to Shine, a youth employability charity in the UK. We welcomed 10 young people from underserved communities in London for a five-day immersive experience at our offices in London, UK. Throughout the week, participants attended masterclasses and panel discussions focused on the tech industry. They designed innovative tech solutions centred on creating a safer and more sustainable London, addressing key issues such as women's safety, homelessness, and sustainable transport. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 11). A panel of esteemed judges evaluated their work, including Bex Perry, Digital Youth Work Development Manager at the National Youth Agency; Emma Cowdray, Head of Client Solutions at Wired Consulting; Simon F., CEO and Founder of the The Institute of Business Support Professionals; and Rifka Noronha, Head of Corporate Affairs UK and Ireland, Tata Consultancy Services. The event concluded with a celebration and presentations led by Korinna Williams, CEO of Shadow to Shine. This collaboration underscores TCS's commitment to empowering youth and fostering community engagement in the UK. #TCSEmpowers
