A huge congratulations to Mother Vera on its win at British Film Institute (BFI) London Film Festival 🏆 👏 Mother Vera (Dirs. Cécile Embleton, Alys Tomlinson) took home the Grierson Award in the Documentary Competition. A visually striking documentary about a young Orthodox nun who must confront her past as she faces her desires and an uncertain future. Mother Vera featured in our 2023 Rough Cut screenings and was edited by Romain Beck, one of our 2024 Queer Realities Director’s Lab cohort. We’re delighted that this year’s special mention in the #LFF Documentary Competition has gone to The Shadow Scholars, directed by Eloise King, also part of this year’s Queer Realities Director’s Lab cohort. A huge congratulation to all this year’s winners. Find out more at: https://lnkd.in/eCg7u5zU
