🥳 A very happy anniversary to Cheribim, who moved into their first office at the Tech Parks 1️⃣ year ago! Katie Steele and team are such valued members of our community and we've loved seeing their office fill, and the business grow 🌱 🪴 🌳 Cheribim was part of the Cooper Project between 2022-23. Now, as a resident of the Tech Parks, this exciting startup is supporting the next wave of founders on our business incubator, through the rent that they pay ☺️ 🔁 It's how our non-profit model works and it's how we're continuing to accelerate tech growth in Sheffield 🚀 🙏 Thank you for the kind words Cheribim, and for telling both your and our story so thoughtfully and enthusiastically in your post👇 Here's to another great year in 204!🚪🥂 🙌
It’s been our 1 year anniversary in 204 - Sheffield Technology Parks🥳 and we couldn’t have received a better present to celebrate than our first impromptu visitor!!! 🎁 They’d found their way over from a city centre church to give us a knock🚪and chat sensors, damp patches and tough conversations about net zero…💖 And it was the ✨BEST feeling in the world to be able to offer them a ☕cup of tea and biscuit and welcome them into our (slightly eccentric) space🪴 surrounded by our “stuff” - from ✂️collages on comfort to sketches of ✏️data pipelines and church plan forms full of furniture inherited from the STP community 🪜 and of course stacked with📡sensors! We’re extremely proud to call Sheffield Technology Parks home 💗 it’s a building which represents the lives and efforts of 1000s of Sheffielders, making and innovating 🏭 and contributing to the economy of this place - right back to the Cooper Brother’s company of cutlers🍴- founded in 1866 and basing their operations here for decades🌎 Their name has come to be synonymous not just with the building but its startup occupants too! 🚀And we’re so grateful to have been one of the 2022/23 Cooper Incubator Cohort of startups that laid their roots here🌱 (thanks to Tom Wolfenden, Rose Tran MBA Tran and Emma Marshall💎) Thank you to everyone who says, hello, how do and hey up every day - we couldn’t imagine a better community to come to work with than those who call the Cooper Buildings “the office” “the labs” or “the coworking” too✨ Please stop by next time you’re passing 204 or Arundel St!! 🍰 📷 photo collage of the Cooper Buildings’, or Sheffield Technology Parks’ front facade, main door, coworking space (with sheepskin “clogs” [definitely not slippers] and cup of coffee), and a central image of an optimistic founder painting an mdf board black whilst crouched on the floor in a sparsely furnished office! collage is covered in yellow doodles: “1 year”, party balloons, a crown, heart bunting, stars and hearts 🎈✨💛

How do you travel around the city? 🚶♀️🚴♂️🚙🚍🛴 🧐A team of researchers from the Universities of Bristol, Leeds and Oxford Brooks want to see how those who live and/or work in Sheffield travel around the city and how this affects their physical activity levels and their quality of life 📈 The research team hopes the findings will support local councils in making decisions about e-bike 🚲 and e-scooter 🛴 hire schemes, plus it will help businesses to better support their staff’s travel choices whilst also looking after their health and wellbeing 🩺😌 Can you help with this research by completing a 10-15 minute survey, and be in with the chance of winning a £100 voucher? 💷 The survey is here: https://lnkd.in/e7BURqMd ⏰The survey closes at midnight tonight!

Meet Nicola Kingswell, STP alumni and a founder with an unusual and inspirational story 💫 🚀 In April 2024, she launched LABSKIN LIMITED, leading producers of a lab-grown full-thickness human skin model. Just six months later she has a team of 7️⃣ and is on target to become revenue generating by the end of the year. Nicola recently shared some of her founder journey with us, including: 👩🔬 her involvement at LabSkin in its former iteration; 💷 how she secured investment to re-establish the company; 🙌 how her time at the Sheffield Tech Parks and working with Unicorn Biotechnologies inspired her to take the leap from employee to employer, describing STP as: 'an entrepreneurial arena'. This story is a great reminder that founder journeys come in all shapes and sizes and challenges along the way are almost always opportunities 🌱 We can’t wait to see LabSkin continue to flourish under Nicola’s brilliant leadership 🤩 Find out more on our blog 👉 https://lnkd.in/ezp8SVTC
