Our new generation of low-cost health plans and dental plans, including the market leading Denplan, look after over two million customers by helping them find, treat and fund their healthcare. Working with thousands of businesses and partners, we connect people to the best-in-class healthcare providers. We aim to support and protect the NHS through the provision of easily accessible healthcare to help people live their best lives. We don’t have shareholders and since 1872 we’ve been led by our purpose of improving access to healthcare, for all in the UK. We are changing the game, investing millions into new businesses to accelerate the development of predictive and preventative healthcare services.  We understand our health depends on the health of our communities and our planet. Each year we commit to giving a minimum of £1million to a range of health-related charities and community causes.     With a general election around the corner and 2.83m people off work due to long-term sickness, accessible healthcare for all has never been more important. To achieve this, we’re calling on the next Government to... 1. Acknowledge low-cost health cover as an effective method of tackling in-work sickness and driving the prevention agenda. 2. Reduce excessive tax burdens placed upon health cover products, employers and their employees. 3. Collaborate with the health protection industry to understand and unlock the role it can play in driving a healthier nation.

    We’re proud to support the BrightBites oral health education programme, in collaboration with Dentaid The Dental Charity , to help teach children the importance of taking care of their oral health, and provide them with a free toothbrush and tooth paste. 🦷🪥 So far this year, BrightBites has reached 16,711 children across 175 schools, thanks to the efforts of 167 volunteers who have given up their time to deliver sessions. These volunteers have included some of our own colleagues, pictured here is our CEO Paul Schreier who delivered a BrightBites session today, and our Chief Technology Officer Tim Gough with our Corporate Finance Director David Warren who recently delivered a session.     It can be difficult for managers to talk to their staff about women’s health issues for lots of reasons – including stigma and lack of knowledge. That’s why we’ve created our Comfortable Conversations guide, to help managers understand common women’s health issues, and provide practical dos and don’ts for comfortable conversations. We offer lots of advice for how to make the process of talking about women’s health easier, such as: • Provide a suitably private space where you can chat without interruption. • Recognise that their condition or situation will make some women feel vulnerable and insecure and reassure them that they are highly valued in their role. • If a woman feels uncomfortable discussing their problem with a male manager, offer a meeting instead with a female manager or HR officer or colleague. • Follow up with a plan of what help you can offer and check in with them regularly.     According to our new research, gen Z and millennials lead the way in wanting health cover at work with 60% saying it’s what attracted them to join their company. Our data showed that nearly eight in ten (78%) workers aged 18-34 say it is important to them that their employer provides health cover.     Writing in City AM today, our CEO Paul Schreier reflects on the figures published last week by the IPPR which found that the hidden cost of sickness to the economy has risen by £30bn since 2018. The vast majority of this – £25bn – is caused by the lower productivity that comes from working while sick.
