Last week we were at Italy's main gaming industry event #FirstPlayable, in Florence. We met many Italian studios and it was a great opportunity to view pitches, catch up with old friends and partners and make new ones. We were pleased to see a constant increase in the quality of games in the Italian video game industry, and these kinds of events are just great for promoting a productive and creative environment of knowledge sharing. Last week we had the pleasure of hosting students from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore to give them a glimpse into the world of gaming and our work here at Slitherine. We explored a variety of topics, ranging from the internal dynamics of video game companies to the multifaceted process of launching a product into the market. One of the highlights was interacting with a novice audience, which proved to be incredibly constructive. And of course, what's a visit to Slitherine without a hands-on experience? The students got to try out a preview of Headquarters World War II, offering us invaluable feedback that will help shape our future projects. Congratulations to Lukas Nijsten and his fantastic team (and to us, too!) for taking home the TIGA Games Industry Award for Best Strategy Game. Working with such talented teams is an honor, a privilege, and a fulfilling adventure. Sometimes, you make the front pages and win the coveted prize; sometimes, you don't, so congratulations to the other nominees, too.

Over the past weekend, we had the pleasure of contributing to the UK's premier wargaming event hosted at Farnborough International. Warfare holds a special place in our founders' memory as both JD McNeil JP FCMI and Iain McNeil were avid participants in these tournaments long before the inception of Slitherine. It is gratifying to return to this event as a sponsoring partner after all these years. This occasion marks just one of the numerous events we are proud to support both this year and in the upcoming ones. Our commitment stems from a deep appreciation for the importance of fostering communities, recognizing the relevance of the hobby, and acknowledging the significant role we play in the lives of passionate players.
