Shelim Hussain, CEO of Euro Foods Group, explains how solar PV has revolutionised cost efficiency for his £120million manufacturing business. Utilising a Smart Ease payment plan, Eurofoods has installed multiple clean energy systems, including a 1.04MWp solar PV system on their headquarters in Wales. ☀️The solar PV system has reduced Euro Foods grid reliance by 40%, resulting in massive savings on their energy bills. 💰Euro Foods were able to install their system with £0 upfront and pay down the cost of installation through manageable monthly payments over 84 months. #Manufacturing #Engineering #FoodProduction

After conducting a thorough energy audit and concluding that solar PV would deliver the highest carbon reductions for the costs involved, Alderman Tooling approached Solarsense to design, install and maintain an additional solar PV system for their factory in Plymouth. By opting for SolarEdge optimisers and online monitoring, Alderman Tooling can measure the performance of their solar PV system. The analysis of this data led the company to change their shift patterns from late nights to weekends, in order to maximise the energy they generate and further increase their savings. With significantly high energy costs and the need to reduce their carbon emissions, Uni-Mill Engineering Ltd approached Solarsense to design a solar PV system for their factory roof in Swindon. The 237kWp solar PV system is estimated to payback installation costs within 3 years and generate a net profit of more than £2.4million over the next 25 years. “Like many organisations, we have become increasingly aware of our carbon footprint and are focused on the ways we can improve our environmental sustainability. As a manufacturer, one of the key areas identified was the high levels of electricity required to power our machinery, therefore we decided to install a large-scale solar panel system capable of providing enough renewable energy to help significantly reduce our imported energy. Working with Solarsense, we were able to analyse their projected data for our site and perform a cost-benefit analysis, which determined a 237kWp system would provide the optimum solution”.
