The government has just unveiled the largest-ever budget for delivering new homegrown clean energy projects in the UK, 'boosting energy security, securing cheap power for families, and unlocking economic growth and jobs for the country'. The budget for this year’s renewable energy auction is being increased by £500 million to over £1.5 billion - a record amount - helping build new green infrastructure as part of the mission to deliver clean power by 2030.  #renewableenergy #solar #cleanenergy #energytransition

Low carbon sources combined to make up nearly three quarters (73%) of EU electricity generation in the first half of 2024. Structural growth in wind and solar was the single largest contributor to falls in fossil fuel generation, outpacing growth in demand and pushing down emissions, according to think tank Ember. The full report is available to download here: https://lnkd.in/dJ_2eiNs Here at Anesco, we're proud to be playing our part and helping accelerate the energy transition. ☀️ Chris Rosslowe Ember #solar #wind #renewables #energytransition #energysecurity #netzero

Renewable sources of electricity are set to expand rapidly this year and next, with their share of global electricity supply forecast to rise from 30% in 2023 to 35% in 2025, says the International Energy Agency (IEA). Solar PV is expected to meet roughly half of the growth in global electricity demand over 2024 and 2025 – with solar and wind combined meeting as much as three-quarters of the growth. The amount of electricity generated by renewables worldwide in 2025 is also forecast to eclipse the amount generated by coal for the first time. #renewableenergy #renewables #solar #wind #energytransition

#WeAreOneTeam is one of our core company values, representing our belief that nurturing an inclusive culture, where individual strengths and differences are recognised and celebrated, only makes us stronger. Building on this, it was fantastic to have so many staff join us for our annual Summer Event ‘Soap Box Derby’, providing an opportunity for colleagues from across our business to get together and take part in some fun team building activities. 17 teams competed to design, build, operate, maintain and optimise the go-karts (skills usually reserved for the solar and storage projects we work on!) before parading their efforts and costumes in front of the other competitors, prior to a grand finale of racing around a specially designed course. From the very creative and colourful to the carbon neutral, there were some brilliant designs on display, with full team participation throughout! Our congratulations go to Team 'GigaWatt?', whose racing skills saw them take the top spot on the podium. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and made the day such a success. Extra special thanks to Fawziyyah and Amy who put their organisational skills to great use, arranging the day and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Winning team feedback: “The event was super fun and was really engaging. It was nice to be placed in a group with people I didn’t know very well, so we were able to work together and get to know each other.” “The work summer event is always a great way to get to know the wider Anesco team - as well as a great excuse for some competitive fun. We were lucky to have beautiful weather for it as well! #WeAreOneTeam#teamwork #teambuilding #renewablesindustry #soapboxderby Teresa Winchester Matt H.

A growing number of young people are part of our team here at Anesco (some of whom are pictured here!), and they have joined our journey through various different paths, including through our dedicated apprenticeship programme.   Anesco HR Director, Teresa Winchester, explains: “It's fantastic to see the next generation so focused on finding meaningful careers that will benefit the environment and help us build a sustainable future. Through our work with schools and colleges, we have seen this passion first hand and we will continue to highlight and drive all the opportunities that the renewables industry has to offer   “We are committed at Anesco to showing the wide range of career opportunities that exist within our industry, and the many different routes ‘in’. From engineering and project management, to health and safety, data analysis, marketing, legal, accounting, IT, customer service, administration, the range of roles available is incredibly diverse.   "We continually strive to develop our staff, be it entry level, or otherwise to ensure that opportunities are available. Also, cross-functional collaboration plays an active role in understanding how our different departments operate and subsequently our staff are keen to move teams and grow into new roles. We have some team members that have now been with us for more than a decade!    “Passion, energy and drive is what we look for. If you’re passionate about something and show genuine interest, you’re going to add value. Meet Nicky, Head of Supply Chain, here at Anesco. Nicky joined us in May 2023 and is responsible for managing the flow of goods, services and suppliers from an initial business need through to purchase, delivery and aftersales. A role she describes as ’the art of co-ordination and delivery’. With a career within procurement that spans more than 30 years, Nicky has worked across a diverse range of industries, including aerospace, defence, technology, telecoms, construction and the energy sector. Outside of work, you’re most likely to her with friends and family, or walking her two labradors, and generally staying active, as a keen skier, jogger, swimmer and yogi. Having lived and worked in France for a number of years, she also returns there with the family for a food and wine fix whenever she can! Nicky told us: “The best thing about working at Anesco is that it’s a truly diverse and friendly place to work. The variety is something I also really enjoy about my role, as there is always something to buy, a supplier to meet, or a process to improve upon, which can be extremely rewarding. “A standout moment from my first year with Anesco has to be planning and holding Anesco’s inaugural Supplier Day, as part of our Health & Safety week last October. That involved working with our suppliers to draft and implement Anesco’s new Supplier Code of Conduct. More than 50 of our closest partners signed up to the Code and joined us in showing their commitment to a safe working environment. “I am very proud to be working in the renewables sector and helping make a difference.” ⭐ Interested in joining our award winning team? ⭐ We are currently recruiting for a number of roles. We’re delighted to share the news that our HR Director, Teresa Winchester, has joined the newly formed Solar Energy UK ‘Equality Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) Committee’ as Vice Chair, alongside Claire Gardner from Solis, who takes the position of Chair. The committee’s purpose is to promote equality, diversity and inclusion within the solar and energy storage sector, including creating a best practice framework Teresa told us: “I am hugely excited to join the committee. I look forward to making an impact, placing ED&I at the forefront of practices across our industry and promoting an inclusive and diverse culture that enables all employees to thrive. “Building more inclusive working environments benefits everyone; from individuals through to teams and the organisation as a whole, with research consistently showing that diverse companies outperform their peers. “It was a pleasure to join the first meeting of the committee and there are lots of great ideas from talented individuals already coming through about how we can make our impact.” #edandi #diversityandinclusion #solarindustry #renewablesindustry
