SAVS works behind the scenes to help local charities and community groups achieve their full potential in Southend.

About us

SAVS is an independent charity known as a council for voluntary service or CVS. That means we work behind the scenes to help local charities and community groups achieve their full potential. We do this by: -supporting them with training, advice and practical help -promoting the work they do -helping them raise money and spend wisely -keeping them informed about changes in the charity sector -bringing them together to exchange ideas -representing their views to local government, funding bodies and others. SAVS has been supporting not-for-profit groups in Southend for more than 30 years. SAVS' community projects Folk Like Us, Triple T's and A Better Start Southend Parent Engagement are delivered by the Turning Tides Team which is itself a project of SAVS and has been carrying out community based projects in conjunction with partner organisations for over ten years. SAVS also delivers Support Volunteering, Timebanking and Social Prescribing Link Worker projects. Further information about all the work that SAVS carries out in Southend can be found by visiting the SAVS website.
