Located at AstraZeneca’s 101-acre Macclesfield campus, this newly envisioned People’s Hub is integral to the pharmeceutical company's employee engagement strategy, fostering enhanced collaboration and connectivity among teams.🤝 The vision was transformed in partnership with leading designers at Tsunami Axis who helped reflect AstraZeneca’s strong commitment to innovation and sustainability. The refurbishment places a strong emphasis on sustainability, choosing products that align with this commitment, transforming a redundant engineering building into a state-of-the-art manufacturing support and amenities facility. With the ability to move, reconfigure and reuse in future refurbishments Spacestor’s Verandas were chosen because they are “future-proof”, aiding AstraZeneca to reach their sustainability aims. Clad in navy blue, the room exudes a professional yet inviting atmosphere. The Verandas configuration is defined by a meeting room area with tech integration, also serving as a flexible hub for focused work and collaboration, without the need for permanent walls. Our Railway Carriages were also use, offering flexibility in size and design, with the option to be open or closed on both sides. This week's #Workspaceoftheweek is an innovative workplace of the future, enhancing the employee experience and community connection throughout! LinkedIn’s new Omaha headquarters, designed by Gensler, reflects the future of the workplace vision with an open and spacious office design complete with neighborhoods to cater for impromptu meetings, group collaborations and enclosed areas with phone booths and private meeting rooms. With sustainability as the top priority for the new office design, the workspace includes 70% of furniture designed in the US, high-efficiency plumbing fixtures reducing water by 35% and an all-electric kitchen using 24% less energy than standard technologies. 100% of the waste materials also have a dedicated collection, including e-waste, which is saved and recycled. LinkedIn also promotes green building education on-site through 48 educational plaques, as well as promoting exercise with an onsite wellness and fitness centre. LinkedIn's workspace is a well-designed and thoughtful representation of how to incorporate sustainability within your workplace. A recent expansion into Manchester, following significant growth, led a leading fintech organisation to engage in a partnership with Overbury for the design and build of their new location. The aim was to offer flexibility, a choice of various work styles, and facilitate collaboration to attract young top talent. With plans to create up to 1,000 new jobs, the workplace required a dynamic layout which would support the forward-thinking culture of the organisation. Spacestor worked with Overbury and their client to provide varied spaces for collaboration, through Verandas. Verandas is a modular meeting room system which has three main pillars, its inherent sustainability, flexible reconfigurability and endless customisability. As an alternative to fixed meeting rooms, Verandas opens opportunities for future adaptability through its modular nature. The use of natural timbers, muted colours and biophilic elements contributes towards a stunning aesthetic, complimented with bold branding and innovative accents. The resulting workplace has been enthusiastically received by users, as they are able to inhabit the collaborative, quiet and social zones based on the tasks they are completing. The future of higher education is undeniably hybrid, seamlessly blending in-person and virtual learning to create a more flexible, accessible model that’s redefining the way that universities function. In the years following the pandemic, research has uncovered a nuanced shift in students' preferences. Gensler’s 2023 Education Index highlights a crucial trend: while there has been a growing desire for more on-campus experiences, with 45% of students preferring a fully on-campus experience, the majority of students, educators, and staff now seek a hybrid or virtual model, which doesn’t necessarily mean off-campus, but from other dedicated learning spaces.
