The European Accessibility Act (EAA) is set to reshape how businesses approach inclusivity. From June 28, 2025, companies selling in the EU must ensure their website content and functionality comply with WCAG 2.1 Level AA (or later) standards. The goal? To make a wide range of products and services accessible to people with disabilities. Non-compliance can lead to fines and even losing the right to sell in the EU. Last week we held our Digital 25 event as part of Wales Week / London! We had a great morning sharing our expertise and providing attendees with valuable insights into accessibility, data, and digital marketing - practical takeaways that can be applied to digital strategies this year and beyond. Woah! What a whirlwind of a few days... Just heading back from London after the Spindogs team hosted their first Wales Week / London event yesterday! It went really well and our team were all great. We had lots of discussion with the attendees and some interesting things came out of the conversations: - Organisations struggle a lot with siloed data and no universal systems to bring it all together (think spreadsheets everywhere!) - AI is still a big talking point. Some people are not allowed to use it in their roles due to the nature of their sector. Will this have a negative effect on their efficiencies and progress? - Accessibility is, and should be, a big focus for companies this year. Especially if they trade in the EU. The EAA is coming into effect in June 2025 so you need to make sure your website is up to scratch! I now need to catch up on my emails and have an early night.
