Squint/Opera was founded by four young friends who wanted to fuse the worlds of film and design, changing the way big ideas about architecture and cities were expressed. At our new home, Journey, we’re talking about multidimensional design (MDX). This cross-disciplinary approach combines the physical, digital and virtual to create experiences that are not just consumed but lived and felt through every dimension of human interaction. The Empire State Building was just included in Blooloop’s list of the 21 best observation experiences. Squint/Opera, in close collaboration with Thinc Design, NY, NY, and Antfood, created a new permanent immersive exhibition as a part of the reimagined top-to-bottom Observatory Experience at the iconic skyscraper. Jean-Yves Ghazi, president of the Empire State Building Observatory, said: “Everyone aspires to come to the Empire State Building before even arriving in New York City. All our polled customers put the building on their “must-do” bucket list. When this project started, our initial step was to find out what our visitors thought of their Empire State Building experience. Everybody acknowledged they had an emotional connection with the building and wanted more. They were looking for unique ways to connect with it. The National Juneteenth Museum, coming to Fort Worth, Texas, will honor, celebrate, and interrogate this remarkable moment in American history.
