🌟At SRL Technical Services Ltd it’s important for us to engage with our local community 🌟 Last week, Nicola and Rich had the privilege of volunteering at Thomas Gainsborough Secondary School for their Career's Day, where they participated in mock interviews with Year 10 students. 🎤 The students were tasked with creating a CV and cover letter for a job they were interested in. The careers ranged from midwifery, drop shipping, and tattoo artistry to gaming and veterinary science. After preparing, each student was interviewed by local business volunteers like us. 🙌 Both Nic and Rich had the opportunity to interview around 12 students each, aged 14-15, helping them gain valuable experience in real-world scenarios. While some students were a bit shy and needed extra encouragement, we truly believe the experience helped them build confidence and understand the importance of skills like teamwork, adaptability, and communication. 💼✨ After each interview, we provided written feedback with actionable tips on improving their CVs, enhancing their interview performance, and refining non-verbal communication skills like body language. Jo brings with her 8 years of experience in quality assurance, and we’re excited to see her skills and knowledge contribute to the continued success of our monitoring services. Outside of work, Jo is a passionate advocate for mental health and enjoys spending time in nature – a love that led her back to Suffolk. She recently moved into her grandparent’s 500-year-old stone cottage and spent the summer making it a home. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find Jo exploring the countryside, or relaxing by the fire with her cat and a book.
