🌻 Ralph, a Community Nurse at St Margaret’s, has played a vital role in bringing comfort and joy to 94-year-old Eileen. Diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in her neck, Eileen not only needed medical support but also emotional companionship and personal fulfilment. Ralph’s compassionate care and unwavering dedication not only provided her with dignity and comfort but also helped fulfil her final wish: to dance again. 💛 🎶

About us
St Margaret’s Hospice Care is a registered charity which has been at the heart of Somerset’s community, making each day count for over 40 years. We strive to delivery of high quality, responsive, compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness. Through our medical expertise, nursing skills and specialist support services, we provide physical, emotional and spiritual care to over 5,000 patients and their families each year. We put our patients at the heart of all we do; treating symptoms, controlling pain and caring for their emotional, psychological and spiritual needs. We support the whole family through a wide range of services such as intensive care in our In-patient Units, care at home, complimentary therapies and bereavement support for those who need it. We also support a wide range of support to carers, young and old. We provide care and support for families and friends for as long as they need us. We rely on over 1,200 volunteers to help deliver our care. Hospices are normally associated with cancer. We care for anyone with a life-limiting illness including motor-neurone disease, cardiac failure, renal failure, chronic respiratory disease and other life-limiting conditions. We provide our services for free. St Margaret’s is a charity – we are not part of the NHS. Our income comes from the NHS and charitable sources from our local community. It costs over £7.5m each year to deliver our care. We are dependent upon the generosity of our Somerset community.

So thrilled with our new website, which is now live! Well done to everyone involved it getting it to where it is today. Such a user-friendly, informative and vibrant platform for patients, professionals and supporters to use. 👏 We're also very excited to share Eileen's story in the Milestones to Memories campaign, which you'll be seeing more of very soon! 🌻 💛
It’s been one hell of a ride the last few months and it’s resulted in the launch of not one but two brilliant projects for St Margaret's Hospice Care. This week saw our incredible new website Go Live. Not my first website project but certainly the most complex and sophisticated. I’m so proud of my team in helping create a website that truly demonstrates who St Margaret’s is and the amazing work that goes on. It’s a big milestone for the hospice in its 45th anniversary year and marks a significant step in helping us to raise our voice to challenge perceptions around what hospice care is! Hot on the heels of the website - I’ve been thrilled to lead a new brand awareness campaign for the hospice which has started to appear in print publications and will be popping up in out of home advertising hotspots in Somerset. Once again looking to challenge misconceptions of hospice care, the campaign Milestones to Memories demonstrates that hospice care is so much more than medical support. Fronted by the inspiring story of Eileen, who has a passion for dancing, you can see how hospice care goes above and beyond, helping people live as well as they can and to fulfil their last wishes. I’d love for you to take 5 minutes to read (or watch) Eileen’s story on our amazing new website https://lnkd.in/efMtmCKV and have a look around at the site whilst you’re there!
