The UK government is expanding its efforts to ensure fair tipping practices in the hospitality industry. Beyond the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023, which mandates that hospitality staff receive all customer tips, new measures are planned to further protect workers. Starting October 2024, businesses will be legally required to fairly distribute tips and maintain transparent policies. Happy 50th Birthday Adam!
Well it finally happened - yesterday was my 50th Birthday ! Half a century. I have done lots to celebrate including seeing Kylie in Las Vegas (and in Hyde Park), Broadway break to New York, Taylor Swift at Wembley in a few weeks, Adele in Munich at the end of the month. Lots of people have been asking me 'oooh are you dreading it?', or 'how do you feel about it?' - I actually feel great. I can now settle in to being one of those older and wiser people that I used to look up to. What have I learned ? 1 - Authenticity is key, and never goes out of style - be yourself. 2 - Family, Health and Happiness are priorities. 3 - Say what you mean, mean what you say - but be kind about it. 4 - Don't sweat the small stuff. 5 - Challenges still come thick and fast - take them - you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
