One team 💪 Well done to the Craft Union team for their outstanding effort yesterday in support of our charity partner Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. Last week 70 colleagues came together to celebrate our Apprenticeship of the Year Awards! 🥇 At Stonegate we believe in looking after our teams, as they make the difference, and this includes nurturing our colleague’s development through apprenticeship opportunities. We’re always striving to improve and innovate, and this starts with our team members, the beating heart of Stonegate. David Doyle, Kitchen Manager at Oasis, Washington was crowned ‘Apprentice of the Year’ after impressing with the detail he puts into each project. His dedication to upskilling his team and supporting the wider business shows how immensely David cares for his peers and Stonegate Group. Rhona Symon, Learning and Apprenticeship Manager said: “David has not only his own accomplishments to celebrate, but he has also supported many of his team through their own apprenticeship journeys - he is a well-deserved winner of Stonegate’s Apprentice of the Year 2024”. Get Ready for the Ultimate Bartender Showdown! 🍹💪🏽 Our mission is bringing people together through our passion for great pubs, bars, and venues, and while we are proud of our #OneTeam, we’re also all about some healthy competition! As a result, our annual Be at One Bartender Challenge is something we look forward to each year. Bringing together around 300 talented bartenders from 40 locations, the challenge is the ultimate test of skills, knowledge, and interaction. Contestants will battle it out for the coveted title of Best Bartender. They’ll also compete for top honours in categories such as Fastest Bartender, Best Pourer, Most Knowledgeable, and, new for 2024, Best Flairer! Shining a well-deserved spotlight on some of our fabulous LGBTQIA+ venues ✨ Built on the site of the 200-year-old Swiss Hotel, Compton’s has been at the epicentre of the LGBTQIA+ scene since 1986. A welcoming beacon through the tough times for the community during the late 80s and 90s, Compton’s is now one of London’s most celebrated LGBTQIA+ venues. “Pride, for me, is a celebration of everything that’s happened for us so far, but still being aware and being mindful of the fight that still needs to be done.”

At Stonegate Group, we’re always looking for ways to innovate and improve the experience for our guests. As part of this, we’re pleased to share that with the help of Zest, we’re rolling out EV charging facilities to four of our sites in Leeds, Sheffield, Lancaster and Swindon. ⚡ As the world increasingly shifts towards using electric vehicles, it's crucial that EV charging points are readily accessible. The new fast and rapid chargers will allow our guests to power up while enjoying a warm welcome at our pubs, all in line with our ongoing commitment to sustainability as a member of the Zero Carbon Forum. This initiative is part of our broader efforts to enhance efficiency and promote a sustainable future for everyone. Jenny and Gary O’Connell, who manage three successful sites, including the Duke of Clarence in Hampton Hill, are among the publicans featured in the video.
