A rapid response was vital to assess high-priority areas in the East Midlands recently affected by flooding. Led by Surveyor Caitlin Tonge two teams of Storm Surveyors captured critical flood level data for the Environment Agency. Their mission to mobilise onto reported flood sites, gather geospatial flood data and investigate flood-prone areas for further evidence. Today (05/02/2025) UK Government has announced increased spending for flood defence. The critical data surveyors collect will play a vital role in future solutions to flooding in the UK. Shout out to Paul Nicholls Operations Co Ordinator & Surveyor Caitlin Tonge for delivering a platinum standard service on a recent project. Our client requested a topographic survey to provide data for a flood model. This was part of a river restoration project in #Cumbria. A quick turnaround was important along with our experienced landowner notification procedure. Often, landowner access, can be a showstopper in projects becoming a reality. However our client trusted Storm Geomatics to execute this successfully. Resulting in mobilisation, data collection and delivery without issue.
