Our Masculinity in Engineering Research survey has been live for the past few months, gathering crucial insights into male identity, workplace culture, and mental health in engineering and technology. Previous research in 2019 and 2022 revealed alarming trends, with the number of respondents who had considered self-harm or suicide rising from 1 in 5 to 1 in 4 in just three years. With suicide being the leading cause of death for men under 50 in the UK, and male construction workers 3.7 times more likely to take their own lives than the national average, this research is more important than ever. We have already received valuable responses, but we want to hear from as many engineers as possible before the survey closes. Nominations Now Open! The EqualEngineers Engineering Talent Awards 2025 are officially open for nominations! Candidly, we have been delaying the go-live date because the category supporters and event sponsors have not been forthcoming this year. If we leave it too much longer, it will not be viable to run in 2025. However, with the maelstrom being kicked up around DEI in recent weeks, as a form of defiance, we are determined more than ever that we continue to platform excellence, and keep up momentum, and so continue with the ETAs.
