The interview and onboarding process should be built on strong communication and transparency. From providing information on who the candidate will be meeting or on the interview format to setting, and sticking to, an expected timeline for feedback, you are showing the candidate that you are investing in them and value their time. Regardless of the outcome, constructive feedback can be incredibly valuable for candidates. It shows that their efforts haven't gone unnoticed and that there is an element of care for their professional growth. The value of the UK living sector could more than double to £470bn by 2029 if supply shortfalls are addressed, according to a research by BNP Paribas Real Estate (BNPP RE). Based on analysis of current demand across student housing, build-to-rent (BTR), single-family rental, and senior living sectors, the company estimates the market to be worth a combined £190bn today, with that figure potentially set to more than double by 2029. Rebecca Shafran, director of alternative markets research at BNPP RE, said: "With the potential for the size of the market to more than double, it's clear that alongside demographic shifts and urbanisation trends, it places an emphasis on the crucial role these sectors can play in addressing the housing crisis and supporting the living needs of the future." Invesco's entry isn't just a big win for them; it highlights the growing importance of data infrastructure in today's digital age, with AI and smart devices driving robust demand for data centres. It combines long-term income with a captive tenant in a strongly undersupplied market. In the 19th century, London's Shoreditch was home to the furniture and textile trade, an industry that built the historic brick warehouses the area is known for. Today, a collection of seven connected buildings on the aptly named Curtain Road are being retrofitted to create a £20.5m redevelopment that aims to cater for today's discerning office occupier. The plan is to fuse them into a single 40,000 sq ft sustainable office space which raises the challenge of how best to retain the character and history of the buildings, while still making them meet the net zero demands of the present. Every design decision made must be commercially aware but also driven towards environmental impact. Completion is expected in the second quarter of 2025, while the site will go out to market this autumn.
