Have to say that this was a little terrifying But that’s nothing compared to how terrifying the mountains of textile waste the Northern Hemisphere is dumping on the Southern Hemisphere The whole fast fashion shit that’s killing the planet is absolutely horrendous, we have to spread the word, teach our children, it’s their future we’re destroying What kind of world have we created, huge corporations that spend billions making our children feel as if they don’t have enough, need to keep acquiring crap they don’t need and don’t want We cannot afford fast fashion - the world cannot afford this shit! Highlight of this years Pitti Uomo Florence! . The return of Paul Smith and he’s gone all out with the presentation. . His most beautiful collection yet, a bang on performance set in one of the most stunning riverside villas in the city - my favourite pieces are the embroidered tailoring and the Lee Jeans workwear collaboration. . I met Paul Smith when I was 18 years old, a student at Nottingham Trent Poly, a finalist in a Paul Smith Mont Blanc competition. Paul loved the suits I’d designed for him and he offered me a job . Unfortunately/fortunately I turned him down and went to work for REISS for 10 years where I was given carte blanche to define the brand and design their concept, most of which still stands today. . When I left to start ALL SAINTS in 1994, Paul saw me at Premiere Vision fabric fair in Paris, came straight over to me, congratulated me and and wished me all the best . He did it again last night! In the middle of being mobbed by 100s of journalists from all over the world. . Either he’s got an amazing memory or he simply is one of the coolest human beings in the world! .
