Last Thursday, I had the chance to attend the The King's Awards for Enterprise and I'm excited to share what happened. This prestigious event honours outstanding UK businesses that excel in innovation, international trade, sustainable development, and promoting opportunity through social mobility. The event was opened by HM Lord Lieutenant Michael More-Molyneux, and introduced by Michael Hayman MBE DL, Chair of the Surrey Lieutenancy Business Group. Both speakers set a tone of celebration and inspiration, highlighting the role of enterprise and innovation in the region. Following the introduction, Chloe Palser and Bernet shared helpful information about the award. Their presentation provided insights into the criteria and process for the awards, offering practical advice for future applicants. Next, Kat Mack chaired a panel featuring several Surrey winners, each with a wonderful and encouraging story, including Alison Lyons OBE, Zoe Yates, Tim Wates, and Conor McCarthy. The panellists shared their experiences and success stories, providing inspiration and practical advice for other entrepreneurs and businesses in attendance. After the meeting, I had the opportunity to speak with Tom Higgins, founder of Gold-i and Conor McCarthy CEO of ipTEST and a winner of last year’s King’s Award. I also connected with Caroline Fleming and we had an enjoyable conversation. These interactions were really enjoyable, as they provided networking opportunities and potential collaborations that could benefit future endeavours. A huge thanks to the organisers. Already looking forward to next year's event! #kingsaward #businessaward #networking
