Vodafone’s latest research highlights a key barrier: 60% of women say the presence of female leaders influences their decision to apply for a job. Recognising this, Vodafone UK has launched the Women in Leadership Apprenticeship Programme to develop future female leaders - delivered through our apprenticeship programme. This Level 5 operational management apprenticeship provides female employees with dedicated time for growth, including at least six hours of learning per week over 20 months. Participants enhance leadership skills, build professional networks, and complete real-world projects to advance their careers. The research also uncovers other hidden barriers to career progression, including lack of flexibility, limited access to senior roles, and insufficient time for development. Addressing these challenges is critical to building workplaces where women can thrive.
