About us

In 2018, The Advantage Group was born a nonprofit organization aiming to provide opportunities for young people from minority ethnic and lower-income communities to develop their employability skills. We went out into the community - into schools, colleges, youth clubs, universities, places of worship, homes to support young people in the ways they needed to be supported. On the way, we collaborated with the likes of Google, Facebook, Shell UK, and Nandos. We impacted more than 2000 diverse young people across the UK. But something happened. We noticed that young people were tired of being talked at, and it became apparent that talking wasn’t enough to create transformative outcomes. Young people needed amplification, space, and resources. So, it’s the year 2022 and we are reborn, this time as a youth culture agency that continues to transform the lives of young people by empowering them with knowledge of, but also with pride in their culture. While still prioritizing building employability, this is now achieved by engaging our young people in designing and developing meaningful projects too.

    As part of Irin Ajo, we took this year's 10 Black woman creatives on a 3-day digital detox, in the Gloucester countryside. Covering everything from mindfulness yoga to tennis, pizza making and even heading into the wilderness of the UK for a hike.     Such a lovely morning with TAG Agency last week at their SP£NNY breakfast covering SP£NNY, their report exploring how the UK cost of living crisis is impacting British youth 💷🇬🇧 It was great to hear from the panelists about what has been giving them joy and inspiration and what is needed from brands during an increasingly difficult time for consumers, creators and agencies/ publishers. Some key takeaways: 💚 Brands should trust the creators/ agencies/ publishers' expertise when trying to tap into their audiences and communities to avoid diluted content and encourage partnerships based in value and impact. 💙 Partnerships over sponsorships, fostering longevity and content and activations that make sense. 💚 Authenticity is king. Avoid chasing trends and turn inward, who are you, what are your values, stick to that and the right people will be drawn to what you're doing. 💙 Costs are more of a consideration and worry, but we're not cutting all luxuries out of our lives, we're just being more selective.     FemPV is a fashion and streetwear influencer, with a loyal and engaged international Gen Z follower base.🏃🏽💨 He’s the conduit between high-fashion and the culture through his own streetwear label NSLB and his affiliation with leading brands such as Martine Rose, Corteiz & Nike. He is also the co-founder of U Wasn’t Der, a collective for young men focusing on fitness and physical health.
