When our client jokingly asked us if it would be feasible to paint two giant transit sheds in their brand colours as a legacy piece in Aberdeen, even we could not have anticipated these amazing results ⭐ 🚨 🎨. At over 65m long and 10m high, the team had their work cut out ensuring this project remained on time between the northern weather, the smelly fish food storage and the ever busy operations within the harbour. These enormous buildings will be used as live zones throughout Tall Ships weekend, and will remain in the quayside for years to come as a bold and vibrant reminder of the event ⚓️ 🐟 👩🎨 🚢. #tallshipsaberdeen #portofaberdeen #aberdeeninspired #legacy #aberdeencitycouncil #traditionalsignwriting Marcos Behrens Kevin McIntyre @jamesgrahamsaloonsigns Robertson Decorators

The Tall Ships Races are coming to Aberdeen in July. It will be the biggest free event this year, celebrating the glorious era of sail. I’m helping with the tea history content for the event, supporting the Aberdeen Line 200 Committee. Why? Because Aberdeen has a fascinating tea history, including that it built many of the famous tea clippers. Look out for the events the Committee is putting together. First up, a special celebration dinner marking the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Aberdeen Line, hosted in collaboration with the wind energy sector and Trinity Hall - The Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen 18 July. The event will highlight the legacy of Aberdeen’s maritime history while drawing connections to its future in renewable energy. It will include a ‘course interlude’ from …..ahem…me, about tea history. Get your tickets quick. See you there. https://lnkd.in/eDbk4P5B #tallshipsaberdeen Port of Aberdeen Tall Ships Aberdeen VisitScotland VisitAberdeenshire Event Scotland Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG) UK Tea Academy Aberdeen Inspired Our Union Street Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce

Ahoy Aberdeen! Tall Ships Aberdeen are not far over the horizon now. I talked about the short, and longer term tourism benefits for the North East with the ever effervescent Fiona Stalker on BBC Radio Scotland Drivetime earlier today. Link in comments. Here are some of the iconic Class A ships you will see this summer, coming from all over the world!🌎 🔹Arm Cuauhtémoc - A Mexican ship built in Bilbao, Spain in 1981. She was later acquired by the Mexican Navy as a training vessel for officers, cadets, petty officers and sailors. Cuauhtémoc competed in the Tall Ships races in 2016 and 2019, winning them both! 🔸Shabab Oman II - Built in 2014, this impressive ship has contributed in Tall Ships races and Regattas in 2017 and 2019, and, most recently, the races in 2022. Her first long voyage was through the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea and the Oman Sea to reach the Omani capital, Muscat. 🔹Bap Union - A class A ship from Peru, built in 2015. She is the first sail training ship of the Peruvian Navy, and acts as a training vessel for officers and naval cadets and as a sailing ambassador, promoting Peru in its various voyages around the world. #TSR2025 #tallshipsaberdeen #tallships #classaship Sail Training International | Aberdeen Inspired | VisitAberdeenshire | Aberdeen City Council - City Development & Regeneration | Port of Aberdeen

Is everyone starting to get excited about Tall Ships Aberdeen coming to Aberdeen in July? ASCO is delighted to be an affiliate sponsor of this iconic event. Having worked in and around Aberdeen Harbour for nearly 60 years, some of us are old enough remember previous visits in 1991 and 1997 and the amazing buzz that was created around the city. This time the event looks set to be even more spectacular with events, fairs, food stalls and quayside concerts from big acts each night. With 'Wages Day' on Friday, raving at the Ministry of Sound on the Saturday, singing along with Tidelines and Calum Bowie on Sunday, hopefully the Kaiser Chiefs don't cause a riot on Monday! #TSR2025 #tallshipsaberdeen #tallshipsraces #tallships
