Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has achieved a €12bn final close for its fifth flagship fund CI V. The fund is investing in energy transition projects including wind farms, solar farms and battery storage projects in low-risk countries in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. CI V has already made six final investment decisions committing 60% of the fund, and owns 50 development-stage projects. The fund is set to support projects adding 30GW to the global energy mix. Mads Skovgaard-Andersen, head of flagship funds and partner at CIP. said: "The value creation in our funds is based on early entry at low cost and derisking and optimising the asset across the different project stages, which are generally less correlated to macroeconomic factors and economic cycles. Robustness is further enhanced through a high degree of optionality from our large project portfolio and diversification across technologies and markets." #investment #finalclose

🇩🇰 Last week our Power-to-X Leadership Council met in Copenhagen 🇩🇰 This meeting was a truly Nordic affair, with our members presenting on projects in active development across Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. Some of the key takeaways were: - Despite the apparent similarity of the markets, there is significant technical diversity in the Nordic projects being pursued, and a wide array of different business cases - Identifying and exploiting ’demand pockets’ will be key to the development of the industry in the short-term - establishing proof of concept and workable templates before the market scales - Faced with global headwinds and uncertainty, P2X developers need greater self-sufficiency, but the progress of Nordic projects is a shining example of what the sector is capable of For many of the team at Tamarindo, strategic communications and PR is our day job - but in an emerging market like green hydrogen, it’s important to take the opportunity to cut through the hype, talk openly around technical and regulatory challenges and discuss routes to meaningful collaboration.
