This week, our Australian project team proudly participated in the Gippsland New Energy Conference (GNEC) in Traralgon, where three of our Corio colleagues took the stage across multiple panels: • Penny Pickett, Head of Australia, on 'International Lessons in Offshore Wind for Gippsland' • Nick Stirling, Supply Chain Manager, on 'Maximising Gippsland's Potential Supply Chain with Bold Global Vision' • Kate Foster, Regional Stakeholder Manager, on 'Community Benefit Models for Gippsland: Global Insights and Local Aspirations GNEC offered a valuable platform to connect with stakeholders for our Great Eastern Offshore Wind project in Gippsland and share our local knowledge and global insights with the sector. As proud gold sponsors, we were delighted to support this industry event, which also featured a free community expo and the Gippsland New Energy Youth Summit. It was a great opportunity to engage with local students about career prospects in offshore wind. We're excited to continue advancing the conversation on Gippsland's promising energy future and showcasing the potential of offshore wind as the region transitions to renewable energy. A big thank you to Gippsland Climate Change Network, Latrobe City Council and Wellington Shire Council for staging such an outstanding event for Gippsland. Congratulations to Corio’s brilliant Regional Stakeholder Engagement Manager in Australia, Kate Foster, who has been elected to an industry leadership position as the Chair of the Offshore Wind Directorate for the Clean Energy Council (CEC). As the trade body representing Australia's clean energy sector, the CEC plays a vital role in driving the country’s transition to a clean energy future. In her new CEC capacity, Kate will represent the directorate in broader industry engagements and provide strategic advice to the CEC’s Offshore Wind team on policy and industry developments. Corio is committed to advancing offshore wind in Australia and our 2.5 GW Great Eastern Offshore Wind project, in the Gippsland offshore wind zone off the coast of Victoria, is a central part of that vision. Awarded a feasibility license in July 2024, the fixed-bottom wind project will contribute to accelerating the offshore wind sector, while supporting state and national efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Nice one, Kate! We are excited to see the impact you will make in this important industry role. “Today’s auction results are a welcome step forwards for offshore wind and a much-needed boost to the UK’s ongoing transition to clean, renewable energy and the meeting of its climate targets,” remarked Jonathan Cole, in response to the AR6 announcement by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. “The AR6 round will see 3.4 GW of new fixed offshore wind added to the UK energy mix as well as the UK’s first commercial floating offshore wind project, in stark contrast to the disappointing outcome of AR5 in 2023. The new government has made a positive start in its mission to make the UK a clean energy superpower and we are looking forward to working with them to fulfil this mission.” Jonathan, who is CEO of Corio Generation and also Chair of the Global Wind Energy Council, noted that a number of projects were not successful this time around, highlighting the opportunity that now exists to build on today’s momentum. “It is also noticeable that, even though today’s results are very positive for the industry, there are still several gigawatts of offshore wind projects that could have been eligible to be awarded contracts in this auction, had the budgets and auction parameters been set in a way to maximise capacity and delivery. This presents a huge opportunity to do even better in future auction rounds,” he continues. “In terms of next steps, we believe that early visibility of future auction capacities and related parameters would help provide greater stability and certainty for industry. In particular, we would welcome increased budgets that maximise the uptake of offshore wind capacity whilst maintaining competition, as well as appropriate price caps that allow cost-reflective and sustainable pricing. “The AR6 auction results are a positive step in the right direction and an encouraging sign of the progress that we can make in future rounds to ensure the UK reaches its climate targets and secures clean, reliable and affordable electricity long into the future.” Corio Generation is proudly headquartered in London in the United Kingdom. We have one of the largest portfolios of offshore wind projects under development globally, standing at more than 30 GW across Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas. In the United Kingdom, we are currently developing two major offshore wind farms totalling more than 3.5 GW – West of Orkney, off the north coast of Scotland, and Outer Dowsing Offshore Wind in the southern North Sea. Together, these UK wind farms are expected to produce enough clean electricity to power around 3.6 million households. Read more: https://ow.ly/HyvV50TeuHP

👍At Corio, we believe in working side-by-side with suppliers and partners who will help us deliver offshore wind projects in a sustainable and responsible way. That’s why we recently announced a partnership with EcoVadis, the globally trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, and it’s why we have now launched a sustainable procurement initiative that will focus on three important areas: ➡️Greenhouse Gas Emissions – encouraging the adoption of frameworks and policies on Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. ➡️Modern Slavery – evidencing the steps taken to avoid and eliminate Modern Slavery in the supply chain. ➡️Health & Safety – ensuring controls are in place to reducing potential risks and regularly report on incidents. We recognise that our suppliers are directly linked to our sustainability objectives, and we will use these focus areas to stimulate discussion and analysis on the current situation in the offshore wind supply chain. Corio use EcoVadis for their rating and analysis of sustainability scorecards, giving us a clear way to discuss and action important sustainability objectives with our suppliers. 🤝 🏗️ Corio Generation and Brazilian shipyard and marine construction company Estaleiros do Brasil (EBR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore how EBR’s facilities could support future offshore wind projects off Brazil’s south coast. Corio and EBR will look at how EBR’s existing infrastructure, located close to Rio Grande port in Brazil’s southern province of Rio Grande do Sul, could support the deployment of two windfarms planned for the south of the country - Cassino Offshore Wind (1,200+ MW) and Rio Grande Offshore Wind (1,200+ MW). Corio is aiming to develop five offshore wind farms in Brazil, totalling up to 6 GW, as part of its significant global portfolio of projects across the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Four of these projects, amounting to approximately 4.8 GW, are located off the southern and south-eastern coastlines of the country.
