  • Expert guest blog: Do you know about the gut-heart axis? You need to! Learn how gut health impacts heart health 🫀   Discover 👇 how gut health can influence heart health in our latest guest blog by Noel Caplice, Professor from APC Microbiome IrelandResearch Ireland Centre based at University College Cork. Learn about new groundbreaking research, in which APC used Tate & Lyle’s PROMITOR® Soluble Fibre - a prebiotic - which was combined with a probiotic (to make what is known as a ‘synbiotic’, when taken together), to show in a human scale model that an intervention to change the gut composition can positively influence what happens in the heart.   #Microbiome #HeartHealth #Research #GuestBlog #TateAndLyle #Synbiotics

  • 🎉 We have been shortlisted for the World Food Innovation Awards 2025, organised by FoodBev Media, for our sustainable stevia programme in China! 🎉 Our programme, in partnership with the environmental charity Earthwatch Europe and NANJING AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, has been recognised in the sustainability category of the awards. These awards celebrate cutting-edge advancements in the global food and beverage industry. The judges praised our sustainable stevia programme for its remarkable innovation and excellence in sustainability and sustainable business practices. Now in its fourth full year, the programme has taught participating growers in Dongtai, East China, how to take and analyse soil samples. They receive hands-on support to make changes that improve soil health and farming practices. And the results? Stevia growers are seeing improved yields and crop quality while making a positive impact on the environment. They're using 74% less fertiliser, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 56%, and reducing freshwater ecotoxicity by 77%. 🌍💚 Find out more about our sustainable stevia agriculture programme in China and its benefits for farmers, the local community, and the environment. • Mentoring for progress: Celebrating international women's day at Tate & Lyle! At Tate & Lyle, we are passionate about mentoring, especially when it comes to empowering women. We believe that mentorship is a powerful tool for unlocking potential, breaking barriers, and creating opportunities for growth and success. That's why we hosted an inspiring panel discussion this week with our Executive Committee members (ExCo) on the theme of "Mentoring for Progress." Our leadership team shared their personal experiences with mentoring and the profound impact it has had on their careers. Their stories were insightful and inspiring, and reinforced the importance of mentorship in driving personal progress and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.   Our discussion highlighted three key elements to effective mentoring: 1. Set clear goals and expectations: Establishing a roadmap for growth and development ensures that both mentors and mentees are aligned and focused on achieving meaningful outcomes. 2. Foster open and honest communication: Creating a safe space for transparent dialogue is essential for building trust and fostering a supportive mentoring relationship. 3. Embrace all forms of mentoring: Recognising the value of diverse mentoring styles and approaches allows the support to be tailored to the unique needs of each individual.   How has mentoring - as a mentee or mentor - empowered you?    #InternationalWomensDay #MentoringForProgress #TateAndLylePeople #Leadership #Mentorship Nick Hampton | Andrew Taylor | Sarah Kuijlaars | Victoria Spadaro Grant | Tamsin Vine (née O'Bryen) | Didier Viala | Rowan Adams | Melissa Law | Ruimin, Remington Zhu | William (Bill) Magee | Lindsay Beardsell | Jérôme Béra
