Putting up living walls and breaking down barriers, we’re here to help London Bridge businesses thrive.
About us
Team London Bridge is a Business Improvement District (BID) run by the business community, for the business community. The BID stretches between London Bridge and just past Tower Bridge in the north to Guy’s Hospital and the King’s College London campus in the south. It comprises the prominent estates of London Bridge City and Shard Quarter, the 4th busiest rail station in the UK, City Hall and over 400 businesses. Since 2005, we’ve been working with our partners and members to make London Bridge one of the most sustainable, culturally innovative and compelling destinations for business and tourism in the world. To realise our mission, we prioritise security, placeshaping, environmental, place promotion, responsible business and networking projects. BIDs run in five-year terms and our most recent ballot was held in early 2021, when, we were delighted to see 95% of votes cast in our favour.

🌱Fresh Air Squares: as we celebrate #20yearsofBIDs, we’re looking back on some of our favourite projects. In 2015, we launched a competition to design portable microparks that could replace parking spaces, improve the environment, and monitor air quality. The winning design first appeared on Tooley Street, with replicas popping up in two more locations from 2016-2018. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eTJjymWd You can still spot our yellow Fresh Air Square outside Unicorn Theatre 💛 This project was designed by WMB STUDIO LIMITED in collaboration with Southwark Council, Transport for London, Mayor of London, Futurecity and CJS Plants🚶♂️🌿 Association of Town & City Management

We're excited to announce the launch of our annual Gift Back campaign! There are many people in our area facing challenges like homelessness, mental health issues and financial hardship, and we know London Bridge businesses are eager to help. The community gift drive runs from November 11th - December 9th, here's how you can get involved: 🎄 Set up a collection point: we'll provide a resource pack that includes a poster, gift ideas, photos and more to help you spread the word. 🎁 Volunteer your time: help charities run their festivities, or help wrap and sort the gifts before we distribute them. Keen to get involved ? Let Sofia Alexandrache know that you’re interested in taking part and we’ll take it from there! Email: sofia@teamlondonbridge.co.uk More info: https://lnkd.in/epq_3s-6

This month we’re celebrating #20yearsofBIDs by reflecting on our achievements and partnerships. Since day one, we’ve worked with Southwark Council, providing 2,000 extra hours of street cleaning each year. Big thanks to our amazing cleaning team! https://lnkd.in/eXpZcpfz

It was a pleasure to hold our SE1 PubWatch meeting at The Shard today alongside Better Bankside, Metropolitan Police and British Transport Police. These quarterly meetings give us the opportunity to share the latest resources and knowledge with our licensed venues, including upcoming training opportunities and safety advice. It also gives our hospitality sector a chance to get together share experiences with each other, which can often be a challenge in the industry! A big thank you to our hosts The Shard The View from The Shard, to Cheeky Charging , and to McDonald's for the much-needed breakfasts! If you're interested in attending our next meeting, please get in contact with our Community Safety and Security Partnership Director Nick Morant

Today and all year-round, supporting the wellbeing of our community is at the core of everything we do - from creating green spaces to hosting our bi-annual Medi-Culture festival. This #WorldMentalHealthDay, we’d like to highlight a few ways employees and residents in the London Bridge area can prioritise their mental health. Here are three initiatives you can take advantage of today: 🚶♀️Book your free Medi-Culture Festival events: from 'Walk for Wellbeing' to 'Science Showoff' stand up comedy, this programme of free events is curated to help you destress, move your body, stimulate your senses and connect with nature. https://lnkd.in/eCYC9YDJ 👩💻Wellbeing in the Workplace: working with the experts at Rener Wellbeing , this programme is designed to help businesses develop effective strategies for supporting employee mental health. We're currently offering free 1-2-1 sessions and a group workshop in November https://lnkd.in/eJnV8pzR 🍃 Walk the Green Space Trail - spending time outdoors and moving our bodies is vital for our mental and physical health. We've created this self-guided tour of our Green Spaces to encourage employees and visitors to explore the area and find pockets of tranquility in a busy, urban environment https://lnkd.in/e8jJ64P5 You can find more resourcouces from Mental Health UK here: https://lnkd.in/erxHxigd.

🏆⭐️ We're delighted to be awarded GOLD standard and BID Category winners for the second consecutive year at the LONDON IN BLOOM awards! Back in July, judges braved the rain to explore London Bridge's diverse green spaces featuring pocket parks, hidden oases, living walls and rain gardens. New highlights on this year’s trail included the revamped Queen Elizabeth Gardens and over 2,000 new plants transforming Druid Street. 🌸 As always, sustainability and the health and wellbeing of our community remain central to our horticultural efforts. In addition to considering factors like biodiversity and air quality during the design phase, we opt for cargo bike transport over motorised deliveries and reduce waste by using reclaimed plants and materials. 💚 We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to the judging day, and especially those who work tirelessly with us year-round to maintain these beautiful spaces including volunteers from local businesses and the surrounding community. A special thanks goes to Cityscapes, Darryl Moore FWDC FRSA Scotscape Urban Greening, Bankside Open Spaces Trust, Potters Fields Park, Nurture Landscapes Limited, Gavin Jones Ltd, Southwark Council, Gsttcharity King's College London , London Bridge City CJS Plants👏 We’d also like to congratulate our fellow BIDs who took part in the competition, joining us in making London a greener place for everyone to enjoy.
