Exciting news from our Swedish office! 🇸🇪 The report on Sweden’s engagement with the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis has been published. Our team has analysed, along with Faugert & Co Utvärdering (Technopolis Sweden), Formas, a Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development’s support to international systems analysis and, in particular, Sweden’s membership of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). 📝 From April to September 2024, the data collection consisted of document studies, registry analyses, interviews and web surveys, including the Institute’s strategy, annual reports, the Flagship Report, and the Institutional Review and Governance Review. According to our analysis, researchers believe Sweden has benefited from policymakers' enhanced awareness of opportunities to tackle environmental and societal challenges, leading to more informed decision-making. It recommends that Sweden maintain its membership in the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (#IIASA) and adopt a more active approach. Transforming how we measure the digital economy 📊 As digitalisation transforms every sector of the economy, the need for governments to accurately measure the digital economy has never been greater. But as the digital landscape grows more complex, so does the challenge of developing the right economic statistics to capture it. That's where our work with the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) comes in❗ In consultation with UK government stakeholders, we have developed a revised definition of the UK’s digital economy. This new framework, alongside a methodology to convert it into a series of metrics, will enable #DSIT to measure not only the size of the digital economy, but also to gain deeper insights into key areas like AI and cybersecurity. We are proud to have produced this work to support more informed, targeted policy interventions for the UK’s digital future! The full report, co-authored by Thoraya El-Rayyes, PhD, Cristina Rosemberg, Alessandro Sica, Charlotte F. Glass, Adebisi A., Diane Coyle, Sergi Martorell, and Tia-J'Nae Murray, is now available online 👇 https://lnkd.in/dXdJAFZH #DigitalEconomy #DigitalTransformation #AI #Cybersecurity

👩🔬🧪Our colleague Lisa Nieth, PhD, Principal Consultant at Technopolis Group, had the pleasure of participating in the Women in Science Policy (WISP) panel at the 28th International Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators in Berlin! The session focused on engagement with policy-makers, offering a great opportunity to share experiences and learn from fellow panellists and participants. Different career paths towards working in science policy were presented and the panellists shared challenges they have faced as women in science (and strategies on how to overcome them). It was an inspiring evening, full of reflection, learning, and support! One fun fact? Beyond discussing science policy, we found out that #women in #science policy have great and diverse hobbies in common: from enjoying improv theatre, being part of the first Harry Potter movie, leading a line dance group, and taking part in a Backstreet Boys dance - They have it all covered! 🎭🎬💃 #STI2024 #WomenInScience #SciencePolicy #PublicPolicy #Diversity #TechnopolisGroup
The #STI2024 is well under way. From poster presentations over scientific sessions to panel discussions at various venues, we are enjoying sessions big or small and treasure the personal exchange in Berlin. This year's Women in Science Policy (#WISP) event at Fraunhofer Forum featured a fantastic panel with Axelle Cheney-Grünberger (French Embassy), Bettina Klingbeil (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung), Lisa Nieth, PhD (Technopolis Group), Alexandra-Gwyn Paetz (Berlin University Alliance), Kate Robinson (British Embassy) and Sandra Westerburg (Senate Department for Higher Education and Research) and was moderated by Gemma Derrick. They shared their career experiences to facilitate the collaboration between women researchers and science policy. More highlights to come!
