Telent had the honour of attending the "Meet the Military" Expo, co-hosted by RFCA and DRPG. This event offered a fantastic opportunity for employers to engage with Reserve Corps members from various military branches, gaining valuable insights into the deployment, engagement, and recruitment of Reservists and Cadets. A key focus of the event was exploring the roles and responsibilities of Employers, Employees, and the MOD in the employment and deployment of Reserves, fostering a deeper understanding of this important area. We also had the privilege of participating in the ERS Gold Award Association (GAA) meeting, where we connected with like-minded employers to exchange valuable insights and discuss best practices. Great news! We are thrilled to announce that Telent has secured a new three-year contract to maintain Oxfordshire County Council’s traffic signals and Intelligent Transport Systems. Originally awarded in 2017, this new contract renewal, running through to 2028, strengthens Telent’s long-standing partnership with the Council, reinforcing our commitment to enhancing traffic management and road safety across the region. Under the renewed agreement, we will continue to deploy a range of on-street ITS across key locations within the county. These advanced systems will not only help optimise traffic flow but also enhance road safety by improving signal reliability, reducing congestion, and supporting better journey planning for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. We are thrilled to announce that Telent has been awarded a contract extension to operate and manage the digital connectivity network for National Highways’ Strategic Road Network (SRN) through 2028. This marks our second contract extension with National Highways, further solidifying our role in delivering digital technology services for the National Roads Telecommunications Service (NRTS). NRTS plays a crucial role in ensuring innovation and reliability, minimising network downtime, and reducing disruption for road users across the UK. Telent’s NRTS contract with National Highways began in 2018, meaning over the past seven years, we have successfully enhanced digital platforms that have modernised connectivity across the UK’s roads, improving the reliability and operating performance across the network infrastructure. Since joining Telent in 2018, she has been a driving force in our Network Services division. Her contributions continue to inspire and empower others to excel in the tech world. Luan Hughes - Chief Information Officer Luan's extensive career spans over two decades of global business transformations, IT strategy, operational excellence and digital innovation. As CIO since January 2023, Luan is leading Telent’s long-term IT vision, ensuring technology drives real change. Beyond tech, Luan is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, championing opportunities for women and paving the way for future generations. This Saturday, 8th March 2025, marks International Women’s Day (IWD) - a global day to celebrate and action for women's rights and equality. The theme for 2025 is #AccelerateAction, calling for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the barriers and biases that women face, both in their personal and professional lives. Although International Women’s Day focuses on topics related to women, it’s important that everyone gets involved in the conversation. After all, biases and stereotypes affect everyone, but together, we can work to challenge these norms. In honour of this, the Women's Community hosted an inspiring workshop on "Owning Your Own Success" led by Dr Kate Atkin - Author, facilitator, inspirational speaker, and training coach.
