  • During Weekend 42, we successfully delivered the enabling works at Stowmarket Rail Station. The Overhead Line (#OHL) works were meticulously planned, utilising three 12-hour shifts within the 52-hour possession window. TES has been engaged with Walker Construction since August 2024, participating in multiple design reviews and client meetings. TES played a pivotal role in the hour-by-hour planning, particularly due to the installation of a temporary footbridge and the removal of the existing one. All activities were concentrated within 100 metres of the platform, involving seamless collaboration with various contractors working under tight time constraints. This strong team effort ensured the programme remained both workable and adhered to, with all planning efforts contributing significantly to the smooth execution of the works. Given the nature of the works, exclusion zones were thoughtfully implemented and managed, which, while causing some interruptions to the OHL programme, were essential for maintaining safety. TES undertook head span modifications, renewed lower span wires, and replaced heavy ceramic insulators with polymeric ones. We installed 104 metres of catenary wire on both roads, regraded and reprofiled the OHL, and successfully removed existing non-conformances. All OHL works were completed within the scheduled timescales, strictly following the detailed hour-by-hour project plan. Safety remained our top priority throughout the project. We established exclusion zones to protect all personnel and coordinated closely with other contractors on-site to maintain a safe working environment. Regular safety briefings and risk assessments were conducted to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring full compliance with safety protocols. Despite challenging conditions, this project demonstrated the effectiveness of thorough planning and strong teamwork. The collaboration with other contractors on-site and the planning efforts were key to the project's smooth and successful delivery - Because... Together, Everyone Succeeds! Special thanks to Paul Ambler and Nathan Guymer, whose dedication and hard work were instrumental in ensuring smooth operations with boots on ballast. #Stowmarket #BridgeRenewal #BootsonBallast #TeamWork #ProjectDelivery #HomeSafe

  • 🌟 TES Supports HELEN ROLLASON CANCER CHARITY's Christmas Tree Collection Drive 🌟 Throughout January, TES proudly supported the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity by participating in their Christmas Tree Collection Drive. Our dedicated team supplied people and vans, ensuring the smooth running of the event over a four-day period. This initiative not only helped the charity raise crucial funds but also brought our community together for a meaningful cause. The event involved collecting Christmas trees from various households across the #Essex region. Our team worked tirelessly, navigating through different neighbourhoods, picking up trees, cutting them to size and transporting them to designated recycling centers. This effort not only helped in raising funds for the #charity but also promoted environmental sustainability by ensuring the trees were properly recycled. The success of this event was made possible by the incredible efforts of our team, especially Sam Pelosi from the Projects department. Sam's extraordinary support and work ethic throughout the four days earned him the title of Volunteer Champion of the Month. Helen Rollason Cancer Charity was highly impressed with his dedication and the positive impact he made. Today is World Cancer Day on February 4th, we are reminded of the importance of supporting cancer charities and the vital work they do. This year's theme, "United by Unique," emphasises a people-centred approach to cancer care, focusing on the unique stories and needs of individuals affected by cancer. By coming together, we can make a significant impact in the fight against cancer and support those who need it most. We are honoured to have contributed to such a worthy cause and look forward to continuing our support in the future. #WorldCancerDay #CancerAwareness #CharitySupport #CommunityEngagement #VolunteerChampion #TES #UnitedByUnique

Over the Christmas period, the TES 2000 Ltd Projects Team successfully completed a 200m re-rail and stress of the Up Electric line at Bow Junction. This critical project addressed 11 defects in the CEN60 rail with Vossloh fastenings, making it a top priority for safety and efficiency. The project was far from routine due to the added complexities involved. As noted by Liam Allen BSc (Hons) CEng FPWI, Infrastructure Maintenance Engineer at Network Rail, “Although what would normally be a standard re-railing item, the added complexity with the Vossloh Fastening system made the job something that needed to be well managed to remove the defects along with the RCF by replacing with new CEN60 rail.” The TES team rose to the challenge, demonstrating their hallmark professionalism through swift mobilisation and meticulous planning. Preparation was key to success. Scrap rail was cut into 20ft lengths and removed from the site, along with historical rail sections from Pedley Street to Mile End RRAP. Additionally, 56E1 rails were cut into 60ft lengths and laid out in readiness for defect removal in the new year. Weeks of hard work—including rail drops, site visits, scoping, and preparatory works—ensured the project’s seamless execution. On-site delivery was equally impressive. Liam Allen personally attended on 28 December and commended the team: “I was exhilarated in the way the site was being managed, as well as the level of professionalism in the workforce in the delivery of the re-rail.” Exceptional collaboration with the Network Rail Romford team and invaluable support from Story Plant Limited ensured the works were completed ahead of schedule and handed back without incidents or accidents. The TES team’s focus on minimising on-site presence—keeping “less boots on ballast”—was instrumental in maintaining safety and efficiency throughout. A huge thank you to Story Plant Limited and everyone involved in this outstanding project. TES’s performance over the Christmas period was exceptional. More than 1,300 shifts were delivered, covering Isolations, Possession Management, and PWAY works. This achievement reflects the team’s wide-ranging expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality work. We look forward to building on this success with more projects in the year ahead. #BowJunction #BootsOnBallast #DeliveryWorks #TogetherEveryoneSucceeds Luke Eastabrook Jack Howell Paul Ambler Tony Evans Gary Desmond - MPWI
