After 26 years, 240 unique labels, and 1 week-long auction hosted by Whisky Auctioneer, he's only gone and done it... Ewan McGregor’s personal 1998 cask of Arran Single Malt has raised an out-of-this-world £135,000 for Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS). 543 bidders from 28 countries placed over 7,000 bids on the 150 bottles of Ewan's Cut, with bottle #1 breaking the record for the highest price paid for an Arran Single Malt. The hammer price reached £119,893, further boosted by £15,107, as Whisky Auctioneer waived its seller’s commission and donated its 12.5% buyer’s commission, ensuring that very penny raised will help support the vital work of CHAS, helping families during their most challenging times. This has been an incredibly rewarding project to work on. A few Fridays ago, the number of mammals at Edinburgh Zoo increased by 25, as a team of Leithers headed over to Corstorphine Hill for a day of volunteering. Sometimes we advertising folks get so caught up with solving our client's problems, that we forget that there is a whole other big wide world out there. Oh how brilliant it was to spend a day outside remembering just how strange and wonderful our planet is. The home of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, Edinburgh Zoo is an amazing beacon of wildlife conservation in the UK. One of its aims is to create deeper connections with nature for its millions of visitors. Well - it certainly did this for us! On October 4th, a big group of us headed over to spend a day volunteering. Our day started in the outdoor arena, where we learned the art of animal training. Some of us Leithers got the chance to meet a majestic barn owl and a curious Asian palm civet. Then we got to know some fascinating creatures up close - including, but not limited to... 🐌 The invasive giant African land snail 🪳 A barbed stick insect 🐢 The “hold like a burger” pancake tortoise 💤 Rodar, the sleepy three-banded armadillo Then, we rolled up our sleeves and helped kick off what will be a yearlong process of clearing over 15 years of growth from the zoo's exterior fence. An unexpected highlight for many was de-weeding and removing grass from the giraffe enclosure. It was amazing getting close to the gentle giants. It was such a treat to volunteer with an organisation close to our hearts. It's safe to say that everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was also very cool to see the city of Edinburgh from another perspective. #EdinburghZoo #ZooDay #WorkHardPlayHard

Our predictive creative metrics peg this as one of the most effective soda ads ever made. Building incredibly intense surprise and happiness with solid brand recall. This would work media spend hard even if re-launched today. Our new research, 'Compound Creativity', uses data from the IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) to show that brands that keep their ads on air for longer achieve high creative quality. "Don't fear funny." This was Marion Miranda and Debbie Morgan's advice to a theatre full of marketing and advertising folk at our Healthy Dose of Humour Event in Soho. Together with the Advertising Association, we hosted 100+ members, inviting our industry to consider how humour can help make advertising more effective.
