  • 🎉 The Lighting Police Turns 5! 🎉 Five years ago, The Lighting Police was born out of a simple yet powerful idea: to raise awareness about the importance of proper lighting in our daily lives. What started as a lighthearted community initiative in London in 2020 has since grown into a global movement, uniting passionate individuals who believe in the power of light. It all began when our founder, Katia Kolovea, a London-based lighting designer, visited a museum and was struck by the poor lighting—sculptures hidden in shadows, misplaced light sources, and the wrong color temperatures. Instead of simply walking away, she took action, sharing her thoughts on Instagram and calling for a movement similar to the "Fashion Police," but for lighting awareness. The response was overwhelming! What started as a few Instagram stories turned into a worldwide conversation, with hundreds of people joining in to share their own experiences of bad and good lighting. And just like that, The Lighting Police was officially born. 🚀 🌟 5 Years Later... We’ve grown into a global community of lighting enthusiasts, designers, and advocates. We’ve hosted campaigns, workshops, panel discussions, and activations to educate and inspire. We launched initiatives like The Glare Patrol Challenge, sparking worldwide conversations on how lighting impacts well-being. We’ve built an amazing Advisory Board and expanded our team to push our mission forward. And most importantly, we couldn’t have done it without YOU! ❤️ This milestone is as much yours as it is ours—because every post, every shared story, every conversation has helped shape this journey. Thank you for being part of The Lighting Police! ✨ Here’s to the next 5 years of raising awareness, sparking conversations, and making the world a better-lit place! ✨ Andra Munro Lavinia Popescu Nadine Baalbaki Mayar Younes #TLPTurns5 #TheLightingPolice #Celebrating5Years #LightingAwareness #RightLight #LightingDesign #CommunityPower
