📢 Meet Paolo Maddaloni MNI, Operations Specialist at FINCANTIERI in Kolkata, India and one of The Nautical Institute's Younger Member Ambassadors (YMA). 🌊 Paolo hails from Italy, a country with deep maritime traditions. His passion for the sea was sparked during childhood experiences aboard ships. This early connection inspired him to pursue a career in the maritime industry. 🎓 He began his studies at the Fondazione Accademia Italiana della Marina Mercantile and initially worked as a cadet officer on cruise ships. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Paolo saw an opportunity to reshape his career. He transitioned to the shipbuilding industry, taking on the roles of production supervisor and officer of the watch for sea trials, while also earning his BSc in maritime business from the University of West London. 🚢 Driven by a desire for constant growth, Paolo embraced a new challenge, moving into the naval vessel sector as an operations specialist in Kolkata. He aspires to continue broadening his international experience while expanding his technical expertise, integrating traditional maritime skills with cutting-edge technologies. 💡 Recognising the importance of training and access to industry knowledge, Paolo joined The Nautical Institute, while still a student. The Nautical Institute provided him with the ideal community to support his professional journey, offering the resources and connections he needed to succeed. 🤝 As a YMA, Paolo is dedicated to inspiring others who share his commitment to personal and professional development. He believes the YMA community plays a vital role in bridging the gap between student life and the maritime workforce, helping young professionals to thrive in the industry. ❗ Paolo is one of 70 YMAs appointed from colleges, educational programmes and first employers worldwide. Together, these passionate ambassadors are working to ensure that their peers and future generations receive the guidance and support they need as they embark on their maritime careers. 👏 Join us in congratulating Paolo on his appointment! #NauticalInstitute #NIMembership #FutureLeader
