In 2015, the world made a promise to advance global peace and prosperity through the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (#UNSDGs). Today, we proudly join #GlobalGoalsWeek, an inspiring annual week of action, awareness, and accountability for the SDGs. From 20th-29th September, over 170 partners have mobilised worldwide to turn promises into action and supercharge solutions for people and the planet. Captured here, our Laidlaw Scholars are flying the SDG Flag in solidarity with #GlobalGoalsWeek, reinforcing our commitment to the Global Goals. This powerful moment marks the end of their recent community engagement tour in Blackbird Leys, where they connected with local residents, explored sustainable solutions, and addressed community challenges. Over the last three weeks, our Scholars have been actively engaging with local schools (John Henry Newman Academy, The Oxford Academy, Rose Hill Primary and Orchard Meadow Primary), using this opportunity to learn from and contribute to the broader community. Through these hands-on initiatives, they are driving meaningful impact on SDG11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG1 (No Poverty), and SDG4 (Quality Education). Global Goals Week exemplifies the power of the SDG community coming together. It’s a unique chance to discover community resources, share knowledge, and build partnerships that tackle complex issues, from inequality to climate change. This week, take part in events, join discussions, and get involved in creating sustainable solutions. Explore the 2024 event calendar 👉 https://lnkd.in/eSCgcG4 Sign up, join the conversation, and be part of the global movement. Together, let’s make #GlobalGoalsWeek count!
