Job descriptions usually list broad (practically meaningless) requirements/responsibilities. It's unhelpful for hiring managers, and it's frustrating for applicants. So, it's important to: → Be specific about what you're looking for → Provide context → Explain what responsibilities look like in practice That way, people will be able to see themselves in your role. And if they're not a good fit, they (and you) will recognise it much sooner. #HiringTips #LeadershipCoach

Performance reviews can be restricted by: 👉 Cognitive bias 👉 The reflex to sugarcoat negatives 👉 Lack of preparation (on either end) To overcome these challenges, try to: ✅ Ask team members to fill out a self-assessment form beforehand ✅ Create an open (two-way) discussion - ask questions! ✅ Get 360 feedback from subordinates, peers, and managers ✅ Use concrete behaviours rather than personal opinions ✅ Give regular feedback - don't just wait for a performance review What would you add? #LeadershipSkills

The UK’s current SMP is £184 a week after the first six weeks. That's almost half (43%) of the national living wage. To avoid people returning to work soon after becoming parents, workplaces could: - align parental leave with living costs - offer flexible return-to-work options - implement policies beyond statutory requirements - better support colleagues' mental and physical health What would you add? 👇 #MaternityLeave #ParentalLeave

90% of workplaces have no formal support for people experiencing menopause 🤯 Now, you don't need to be a menopause expert. But it's really helpful if you: - Know about menopausal symptoms - Can have open, supportive conversations - Understand ways to help those experiencing menopause - Improve access to flexible working - Don't tolerate any sexist or ageist behaviours Tiny steps make a huge difference. The easier you make it for someone to open up to you, the easier it will be to identify the support they need 💛 Handy resources include: - This guide from Acas: https://lnkd.in/dBRN6Esk - This PDF from Bupa: https://lnkd.in/ecNtkGyD #Menopause #EDI
