The Mentoring Service of SSAFA the Armed Forces charity has been granted £26,000 by the RNRMC to continue its Transitional Mentoring Scheme. SSAFA’s Mentors provided hundreds of men and women with advice and support as they move from a career in the Armed Forces to civilian life. “Our vision is for a society in which the Armed Forces, veterans and their families can thrive, and we can only achieve this through the support of our key partners such as RNRMC.” - Clare Bain, Mentoring Services Manager at SSAFA RNRMC and SSAFA understand that behind every uniform is a person and with our partnership - we can be there for that person and their family. • Today, our Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity team stood shoulder to shoulder with Royal Naval Association, the Commanding Officer of HMS Excellent, the team at RMA - The Royal Marines Charity and members of Royal Marines Band Service to show our unwavering support for one of our own. Sophie Ward, a cherished band member, was recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. 💙 In a powerful moment of unity and courage, 26 Royal Marines Band members poured 26 icy buckets over the heads of 26 volunteers, each one stepping up to make a difference for Sophie. This isn’t just a challenge—it’s a call to rally behind Sophie and the three charities that are working tirelessly to support her: The Royal Marines Charity, Dorothy House, and Motor Neurone Disease Association SE region We’re asking you to join us in this journey of hope and resilience. Will you take on the challenge to support #26forsoph. Every donation, every act of kindness, and every show of support brings us closer to making a real difference. Donate now and help us continue this mission of love and strength: https://lnkd.in/eM4cdTMu Together, let’s show Sophie and those facing MND that they are never alone. 💙

  • 🤝 AB Brendan Carr has been awarded the Herbert Lott Efficiency Award from Navy Command Headquarters (NCHQ). His dedication and commitment had a direct and measurable effect on the Maritime Reserves (MR). 🏆 AB Carr has been the ‘go to’ person when photographic support is needed for an event, and in recent months he has been busy - producing several films for internal messaging. In direct support of the MR focus on Recruit and Attract, AB Carr has captured imagery and video from RMR Scotland, produced a film for the MR Command Management Group, completed 2 film shoots at RMR London (Awards Evening with HRH Prince Michael of Kent), a film from HMS SCOTIA highlighting their RHIB capability, and a video to share the opportunities on Exercise Ballykinler in Northern Ireland. 🗣️ “I was taking photos of the CO Change over and had no idea he was presenting me with an award, even while he was reading out the award, I was standing there taking photos, he had to stop me to alert me that he is talking about me and the award is for me.” AB Carr explained. This attitude shows how AB Carr prioritises his work above all else. 🗣️ Lt Cdr Simone Stevens added “The work that AB Carr has delivered this year has been exceptional, delivering high quality output to support Recruit and Attract, as well as Retain, at a significantly reduced price if civilian contractors had been approached, using his own personal equipment insured at his own cost.”
