When we speak to brands about offering care and repair to their customer communities, one of the first questions we’re often asked is who should pay for these services - the brands or the customer. We know that customers are increasingly willing to spend money on maintaining their loved items. The growth we’ve seen in the direct to customer side of The Seam over the last year proves undoubtedly that consumer willingness to pay for repairs will continue to grow. But on the flipside, we’ve also learned through some of our brand partners that offering time-bound free services or discounts on care & repair is a trusted way to increase customer engagement and loyalty. On our journal, we’re sharing the key insights from warranty service models we’ve built in partnership with Sheep Inc, Veja and Shrimps. https://lnkd.in/eVas763Q Layla Sargent Yasmin Tills Vrinda Maheshwari Joelle Leaderman Katie Marcus Louise Waern Edzard van der Wyck

Yesterday OMNES launched care & repair, powered by The Seam, and we couldn’t be more excited to support another sustainable brand in connecting customers with our talented community of skilled Makers 🌏 European legislation is increasingly pushing for companies who design and manufacture products to support their customers to make those items last. It’s clear that the future for fashion is a world where items are designed to last, kept in rotation, and maintained wear after wear. The brands of the future won’t just sell stuff, they’ll take accountability for it. OMNES marks The Seam’s 12th brand partnership launch and and we’re excited to welcome their customers into the world of care and repair, just in time for occasionwear season 👗 Thank you to Holly Willems Jordan R. Isobel Walker Vrinda Maheshwari Bronwyn Seier for bringing this partnership to life 💫

The Instagram algorithm loves repairs 📈 In the last few months, The Seam have gotten to share our magic repair videos with some inspiring brand partners and the engagement rates have skyrocketed beyond expectation. Net A Porter, LK Bennett and Octobre each shared videos of The Seam repairs on their feed, and here are the results: ⬆️ NET-A-PORTER’s knitwear repair reel performed 606% higher than their average video content. ⬆️ LK Bennett’s wedding shoe re-dyeing reel performed 772% higher than their average video content. ⬆️ Octobre Editions’s jumper repair reel performed 545% higher than their average video content. We see this as proof that people don’t just want to see your collections fresh out of the box, styled by influencers, and on their very first wear. They want to see your items worn, loved, cared for and repaired. If your brand wants to include repairs in their algorthim this season, get in touch with us to collaborate 🪡 (Source: We compared each brand’s repair reel performance to the average performance of the preceding 8 reels on their feeds)

Our team is celebrating a global win today from Xero's Beautiful Business Fund, which has recognised our vision to upskill and champion Makers across the UK to make wardrobe care and repair more accessible than ever. In 2019, we started a directory of East Londoners with sewing skills. Today, that directory has evolved into an intelligent match-making tool that pairs wardrobe needs with cobblers, menders, tailors, leather restorers, jewellers, sneaker cleaners and embroidery artists across the UK. We're grateful to have been recognised by Xero for the upskilling journey that will support our next chapter. https://lnkd.in/enuivaFD Layla Sargent Tracey Keys Louise Waern Vrinda Maheshwari Bronwyn Seier
